Nintendo of Europe's President, Shibata-san, announced during the Amsterdam live press conference that the system will launch across Europe on March 25th, two full days earlier than in North America. Price information was left up in the air, as Shibata noted that the system price will be left up to retailers (and presumably may vary by country). This is BS. North America is the most important market in video games, ESPECIALLY for Nintendo (which gets most of their sales here).
I know it won't be much time difference, but I don't get why they are doing it. Yes Europe is big, bit it's still a smaller market. This will also, I think, be the first system to launch in Europe before North America (not counting re-visions of existing systems).Europe get the bonus of getting it before us because they are paying extra for the system. At the price they are paying $317 -$396 USD, I wouldn't be mad if they got it a whole month before us.
