Kingdom Hearts creator and designer Tetsuya Nomura confirmed via Famitsu that Kingdom Hearts 3D won't be reusing past Disney worlds. Past handheld titles such as Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and the upcoming Re:coded featured worlds from the previous titles. "Except for original worlds and Traverse Town", he said, "We plan to make all new Disney worlds."
Famitsu also asked Nomura why the title features Sora and Riku as children. "That's still a secret", he told the publication, but he then noted that having them as children is vital in the game's story. In addition, Nomura confirmed that the story in Kingdom Hearts 3D will tie into the story of Kingdom Hearts 3. "Perhaps, the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3D will continue in Kingdom Hearts III", he stated.
"Really? So what makes him think that 3DS owners will have a PS3, or is this but a confirmation that KH3 will also be available for the Wii."
I'm just assuming based on the idiocy that sometimes is apparent from Square-Enix. Did the Wii get FF13? No, and hell if the Wii wasn't market leader then lol.
I'm just assuming based on the idiocy that sometimes is apparent from Square-Enix. Did the Wii get FF13? No, and hell if the Wii wasn't market leader then lol. They could have just used whatever they worked on with the PS2 engine they had for FF13 before they restarted the project for the HD consoles. Watch, the only thing that you will get for the Wii is KH3: log 1/2.
But the Wii did get Dragon Quest X.
The Wii was NEVER gonna get Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix have said in the past that mainline FF games will go to the system with the best tech.
When FFXIII was being planned it was still very unclear which system was going to be the market leader. First of all, when it was first announced for PS3, neither Wii or PS3 had hit the market yet and Wii especially was still highly questioned by developers. And even when they did launch and Wii sales soared, companies were still unsure if it was just going to be a short term fad... That's why DS was chosen for DQIX--- at the time it was the only system sure to still be on top by the time development was completed. Once Wii's dominance became clear, they started planning DQX for Wii. Besides, FFXIII probably wouldn't have gone to Wii even if its success was certain. The "idiocy" behind continuing FF on PS3, is probably just part of the choice of direction for that particular series. FF has gained the reputation for using their latest graphical advances, and to keep up with that tradition they have to keep it on the most advanced hardware. I'd say FF is the exception not the rule. Square-Enix's current pattern seems more favoring towards Wii at this point. And let's face it, with the KH series' use of Disney characters, the Wii's family-oriented reputation makes it an even more sensible choice for the franchise when compared to the gritty, adult-oriented reputation the PS3 is known for.
