Mario Party 2 on Virtual Console? Has the original Mario Party even been released on VC? It certainly hasn't been in North America.

I own a cartridge of the original and would definitely pick up the sequel on VC if it were made available.

None of the Mario Party games have been released on Virtual Console, in any region.

I would buy one or two of them, I loved the N64 ones (I never played the GCN or Wii ones).

It's probably because of the minigames in the first one that Nintendo got sued over, and they're just avoiding having to deal with that by skipping right to the second one.

The original Mario Party has not aged well at all, I would say it is not worth playing today and I think Nintendo knows that. Most of the minigames in Mario Party 2 are actually just better versions of the minigames in the original, and all without spastic stick-spinning, so there's no real point in playing the first game. Though if you want only one Nintendo 64 Mario Party, make it 3, that was the best one easily.

I have never heard about any lawsuits. Care to explain?

I remember them offering the glove, but I didn't think it was the result of a lawsuit, I thought it was just because of regular complaints.
