Title: Animal Crossing 2 news
Post by: Meta-Knight on April 29, 2003, 04:24:52 PM
French website Newtechnix has some news about Animal Crossing 2.

According to them(there is no source indicated but they are usually reliable) Animal Crossing 2 will not be released until 2004 or even 2005, but an add-on to AC could be released this year in Japan.  What do you think of this?

I think it's great news.   They will take time to include as many features as possible in AC2, and hopefully online play for even more interactivity.  The potential of this game is enormous, so it's great news if they take the time to make it a kickass game.

What do you think the add-on could be?  Whatever it is, it will make us wait for AC2!

the add-on is the American Version of Animal Crossing (ereader support, etc.)

I'd say this game will probably come out after e3 next year. Would make sense to show with some online stuff then...

Plus my calendar in Animal Crossing doesn't seem to go past March 2004...

That could be because it only shows 12 months at a time. Check tomorrow (May 1st) and see if it goes to 2005. I doubt Nintendo put a end date on the game.

Actually, if I remember earlier reports correctly, Animal Crossing "ends" about 20 years from now.  I was never quite sure what that meant (does your town gets demolished in 2022 by a Bowser raid a la SimCity ) . . . perhaps someone else can explain it . . .

I actually created a town and character and tried to see what happens at the very end of the AC calendar. The result?... nothing. It just rolls back to January 1st of the last year and goes along as normal.

I knew someone on these forums had to have tried it out . . .

So, you basically have to live the same year over and over again once you get 2022?  Majora's Mask and Groundhog's Day revisited!

well,

what about this....

http://www.n-philes.com/php/epvezefezylefpulyzl.php

Nintendophiles had a report and talkked about Animal Crossings 2 being online... so the later date would make sense.

This is probably just a mistype or something. Or maybe I am not understanding what they are talking about.

I would really like AC2 to be online. And of course it would have to be compatable with the freakin' keyboard!
