Title: Madden NFL 11 Special
Post by: NWR_Neal on July 09, 2010, 02:23:50 PM

Check back every Friday until the game's release for behind-the-scenes info.

Back in May, I had the chance to check out Madden NFL 11 on Wii down in Orlando, Florida at EA Tiburon. As you might know, Tiburon is adding a whole bunch of new features and refinements. After speaking with members of the Wii development team, I came away with a truckload of information to sort through and digest. Over the next few weeks, I'll be shedding light on the development process of Madden NFL 10 and 11.

You will get the answers to such burning questions as "Why did they change the art style?" and "What was up with the locked franchise mode?" as well as insight into the brand new franchise mode that is being introduced in this year's game.

Check back every Friday until the game's release on August 13 for a new article about the Madden series. Next week we'll discuss the history of the series on Nintendo platforms, and subsequent articles will focus on the art style, gameplay changes, and franchise mode in this year's game.

Minor correction: it's EA Tiburon, not EA Sports Tiburon.

To be honest, I am not all that interested in the game. I played last years game and the Madden series doesn't change that often (not enough to warrant charging full price).

Meh...(sorry had to do it)

These games are always a solid offering, especially if your a big NFL fan but the purchase the year behind method works for me, as soon as the new one is on the horizon, the old one drops to $30 brand new from your local retailer. Brand new will be more important from now on....

The price drops even sooner. Most retailers seem to have them on sale for $30 (or so) during the Black Friday weekend.

You can see from my review last year that I really dug the new look and feel. They were problems, but it was really one of the better multiplayer sports offerings I've seen in a long time. It was like Blitz with a touch of realism.

AWWWW yeah, if it did give that BLITZ feel then I'm all in. Thats something I miss now a days. I get that Madden is a serious simulation but it doesent hurt to add in a little foolishness so it can feel explosive again. Thanx Mr. Ronaghan, you just might have made this a day two purchase for me...... Day one the servers are gonna crash with EA Online Pass registrations. :P:

I refuse to buy any game that uses crap like the Online Pass, that is why I am glad that UFC Undisputed 2010 sold less than expected.

I don't think Madden on Wii has online pass. Not 100%, but I don't think it does.

THQ's Online Access Codes probably helped it sell less but UFC Undisputed 2010 didn't need much help to not succeed.

I am still not sure if I will get the game; if I do get it, it will be the Wii version (if it doesn't have the Online Pass).
