Nintendo is standing firm on their original release window for the 3DS, which was before the end of the current fiscal
year, despite the fact that Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime teased a specific time frame of "next year" on
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last week.
"Nintendo 3DS is schedule to launch by the end of Nintendo's current fiscal
year, which runs through March 31, 2011," said Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America's senior director of Corporate Communications.
Fils-Aime
could have been correct in his slip of the tongue, but Nintendo of America is not ready to fully admit that the system isn't
launching in North America until 2011.
Unlike Kotaku, we can name our source!
Also, testing on-site talkback. I like it. :)
Reggie meant the next calendar year, didn't he? So he could be right that it launches next year, but still in Nintendo's current fiscal year.
