The FFIII DS music is indeed based on the original Famicom music.
The spark power in Pulseman is actually called Volt Tackle -- the same as Pikachu's Final Smash in SSBB.

The developer of Pulseman also did Yoshi and Mendel Palace for the NES, and Mario & Yoshi for the Super Famicom. Of course, they've been stuck on one series for the last 10 years except for the one exception mentioned during the show.

Own count: 2/5 FFIII/Pulseman

I have an adapter that allows me to use the N64 controller while hooked into the gamecube port. I use this to play Sin and Punishment on virtual console with the N64 controller. It gives a very authentic feel to the gameplay and make playing the game a lot easier than using the game cube controller.

5. By the way, you seem to always pronounce "Game Freak" with an "s" on the end. I'm pretty sure there isn't one. By the way, they also made the Mario & Wario SNES Mouse game, which is referenced in the original Pokemon GB games.

Good show, even though I've only played one of the games. When Jonny said what the theme was, I said to myself, well the only thing I could get would be FFIII, and then in the first two seconds of the first song, there it was. Johnny, if you're curious about FFIII, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. The ending is ridiculously hard, with a crazy boss rush, but I managed to do it, and this was my first Final Fantasy game. The FFIV remake was a little bit better in almost every way, but the core of FFIII is still very good. And there's a sort of predecessor to the thing you like so much about FFIV where characters come and go. Your core party of four people stays the same, but NPC helper characters come and go throughout the story. So overall, I liked it, even as a newcomer. Though, if you do pick it up, my advice would be to switch jobs depending on the dungeon you're in, the game doesn't really make this very clear early on, and if you don't switch often you kind of have to brute force your way through each dungeon.

An excellent episode. The only game I guessed was Rondo of Blood. I half-expected to hear Tatsunoko vs. Capcom in there somewhere, since it's almost an import game.

It finally happened: I went 5/5 playing Radio Trivia. I thought the import theme would suit me well, and so it did.

Sin & Punishment may be one of my favourite games, but I've always thought the soundtrack was weak, and the same is true of the sequel. I'm not a big fan of Treasure soundtracks in general, but I'll take the whacked-out Genesis stuff like Alien Soldier over the anime stylings of their more recent work. Ikaruga's probably my favourite soundtrack of theirs because it has a strong theme and a grand feel to it that matches well with the on-screen madness.

Thanks to Jonny and TYP for another very entertaining episode of Radio Trivia.

Yeah, I always put an "s" on the end of Game Freak. It sounds better that way to me, so I always forget the correct name of the company.

Tatsunoko would have been a good choice for this episode! It was out in Japan about a year earlier, and most of us were shocked by the Western release announcement.

To me, it's the other way around. It sounds weird to add it.
