The single-player mode consists of one-on-one duels with the computer, and considering how repetitive each of the 20 games can get, it gets a little tiresome. Regardless of if you slightly change Soccer and call it Funky-Soccer, it's still practically the same thing.
When you play the game with a friend in one of three different ways (same system, DS Download Play, Local Wireless), it is considerably more fun. The game shines in the multiplayer mode as you devise strategies to screw over your friend and lead your way to victory. This is pretty much the definition of the type of game that is fun in the same room and couldnt get be replicated in a strictly online world. While the repetition limits this fun experience, it is still an entertaining game in multiplayer.
If you have a DSi and you find yourself playing it around friends a lot, then Globulos Party might be worth the plunge. However, if youre a solo gamer, there are much better single-player experience on DS and DSiWare.
Pros:
Lastability: 4.0
If you have a friend around, the multiplayer mode can entertain you for a while. While there is stuff to do in the single-player mode (20 games with multiple difficulty levels each), it just isn't enthralling. You can collect some things, but it doesnt really get you anywhere.
Final: 5.0
Globulous Party is only fun when you have a friend around to play multiplayer as the single-player mode is tedious. If you have the opportunity to play with a friend, it's a lot of fun, but thats about it.
Ain't no party like a Globulos Party, cause a Globulos Party don't stop!
