Title: Help my Dewmocracy flavor win!

I tried all three new Dew flavors. They all pretty much suck.
So, I'm going a different route. A grass roots campaign with a write-in candidate. Mountain Dew: Throwback.
It's going to take some work, but we can do it! ;)
To vote on line, you'll need to go to the Dewmocracy forums and register, then reply to my thread. I'm sure it won't do much good, but it's better than voting for one of those three other flavors. ;)
Additionally, you can call in and vote for Throwback! Kinda! Call Pepsi's customer service number (1.800.433.2652) and tell them you want to vote for Throwback.
Keep in mind, if Mountain Dew: Throwback comes back, Pepsi: Throwback will probably follow!
Help me spread the word with this. I know it's a long shot (like, really, really long and probably not going to make any difference) - but what else ya got to do? :D

Don't you realize your body reacts to HFCS differently? Man, like your body doesn't register that your full with that stuff. That's why you can drink a 1 liter mountain dew no problem, but if you drank 1 liter of grape juice you'd feel queezy!

But it doesn't taste right! It doesn't really matter, though; I usually only drink diet pop so I don't get either HFCS or cane sugar. I only get aspartame, and there aren't any negative side effects from that at all.

splenda is better than aspertame, sweet and low(saccharine and dextrose) is even better

somebody told me aspartame turns into formaldehyde when it heats up in your stomach, but that sounds like a crock.
I've also heard the intensity of artificial sweeteners makes you hungry and you end up eating more. I don't know.

I only get aspartame, and there aren't any negative side effects from that at all.
It's interesting because a friend of mine did a research report on aspartame and found all of this negative stuff on it, but looking now it looks like a lot of it was a mistake. Though I'll take aspartame over HFCS any day.

if for some reason your soda has sodium benzoate and apertame and is exposed to sunlight(uv radiation) -ie in a bottle it breaks the sodium benzoate into sodium and benzine. However, soda companies are taking out sodium benzoate for this reason. Its still in Dr Pepper...sooo don't drink diet dr pepper!

Mountain Dew has come out with three new flavours again? This is getting ridiculous. Do they really need a sales boost or something?
I can't say I noticed a difference between the Throwback version and regular Mountain Dew. Therefore I'm going to make my own write-in candidate for whatever the grape Mountain Dew was called. That was the best one.

Maybe the guys over in product development decided they wanted to keep their job and have to expand the flavor base to do so.
Can't keep a job perfecting a recipe that's already been perfected a long time ago. Now it's time to come out with new flavors so they can keep feeding their families.

I decided to buy one of each of these the other day to try them all.
Distortion tastes like somebody dropped a lime Jolly Rancher into some Mountain Dew. It is okay, but a little too sweet for my liking. Typhoon tastes pretty much like the Game Fuel they used to make, which tasted like a mixture of Code Red and Livewire. Somehow, this makes it taste like cat urine. Whiteout tastes like a mixture of Seven Up/Sprite and Mountain Dew. It is okay... but those drinks by themselves are better.
All in all I am not amused. Each new flavour of Mountain Dew they create just gets even more bland, sweet, or disgusting. I'm still hoping they'll come back out with the grape one, even if it has a new lame name.

Edit: I've never even tasted Mountain Dew's regular flavor. Something about it is just off-putting.

hehehe cat urine is overly prevalent
i had kittens for a while and they pissed all over my n64 games case, luckily it didn't breach the barrier onto the games. The last thing i want is 20 cat urine corroded games.

Everyone always asks that obligatory question whenever I compare a food to something disgusting. It's simple. Scent is about 80% taste, so I don't actually have to eat something to have an idea of what it tastes like. All I have to do is catch a good whiff. Technically I don't KNOW what it takes like, but I don't need to know.

So, I met up with one of the Dew teams touring the country. Team Typhoon was nearby. I wasn't going to go visit, since I worked today, but I ended up winning some e-mail contest where I got a Dew Drop package. Ideally, they were supposed to drop it off at my place, but I was outside of their drop radius (supposed to be 25 miles out, but I'm about 45 or so) - so I had to come pick it up if I wanted it. It included a Shirt, a can of each flavor of Dew, a Flip Camcorder (specially decorated for Dew) and a neat, metal "ammo" case. I was supposed to get a case of Typhoon as well, but I didn't get one for some reason?
Anywhoo, neat promo. I'm too old for this - I swear these were like 18-22 year old kids doing this promo. I was a complete doof as they recorded me. All well, got some kind words in for Throwback. Had to break the news to them that I liked Distortion better, but that I liked Typhoon better than White Out. When I first tried them, I didn't like Typhoon at all, but the taste has grown on me. I drink a lot of my sodas room temperate, and Typhoon just can't be drank that way.

Soda at room temperature? Have you gone mad? The only pop that is palatable at room temperature is root beer.

"back"? It was relaunched last summer... :D
Slightly related, Pepsi is bringing back Pitch Black Mountain Dew for another limited run.

I saw Mountain Dew Throwback for the first time last month... in a random gas station in North Carolina. I just wanted one, but they would only sell it to me in cases.
