Title: IGNorant Guessing is always good fun!
Post by: Peachylala on April 04, 2010, 11:57:04 PM
Any game on the Wii that is good automatically get a -0.5 deduction. Non-HD is also an automatic -0.5 deduction.
Anything else can go to -0.1 to -1.5. These elements can be various.
Revised guess for Super Mario Galaxy 2: 7.6
DEDUCTIONS: - Same game 0.2 - No online play 0.5 - No voice acting 0.5
EDIT: Thread title changed.

damn IGN, i know. Games are supposed to be compared to other games on a system not to games on other systems.

We get it. You guys don't like IGN (especially you Peachy). Just avoid it and you'll be ok.

IGN gave New Super Mario Brothers Wii an 8.9 (which is a respectable score IMO), so I expect a similar score for Super Mario Galaxy 2. In fact, I would not be at all surprised if they gave it an 8.9 as well.

You don't understand, this is just something fun. IGN has made itself a meme of sorts with horrible game reviews.
But... maybe I'm being too mean to just IGN. Others deserve the love.

Well, I'm scheduled to do our review of SMG2. I'll let you in on a little secret, I have a very solid standard of reviews...Not looking like a good score for this one...

Your review standard is a joke. True journalistic integrity is communicated via Hungry Hungry Hippos.

It's more Snakes and Ladders, with a mix of Candy Land.

Panchinko, really. There are a bunch of numbered slots, labeled 1-10 on the bottom. At the top go several balls, color-coded by category!
You could also do it like a D&D character sheet: Roll 2D6 for Graphics, 3D4 for Sound, and 1D12 for Gameplay. During your opponent's next turn, if your opponent successfully rolls for initiative, the Overall score cannot be higher than a 7.
I'm set to review Metroid: Other M. The game will get +1 Overall for each scene with Zero Suit Samus.

You should do the review the same way this guy did: http://animalreviews.zelica.net/reviews/ocelot.htm
