Title: Gah - So close!
Post by: UncleBob on March 29, 2010, 08:25:53 AM
So, over time, I've managed to get a fifth Broadband adapter, a fifth set of component cables, a fifth GameBoy Player, and a fifth copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash - all on the cheap. Well, yesterday, I was at a closing Hollywood Video/Game Crazy (Tuesday is their last day) and there they had this sad, lonely Game Cube - $30 and 80% off. Unfortunately, it didn't have *anything* with it. No controller ('meh, got plenty of those), no a/v cables ('meh, got some extras there) and no power cable. I really, really thought I had a spare GCN power cable somewhere around here. Apparently, I don't. Guh. :(

I think his goal is to get 8 to play Mario Kart multiplayer or something? Or maybe I'm making that up.

You can get a refurbed power cable on from Nintendo for $10--only $4 more than you paid for the system!

Gamestop (http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=25726) has 'em used for $5 - unfortunately, my GS doesn't have one in stock right now. :(

While I would, at some point, like to do that, the fifth GameCube will let me play Four Swords+ on five TVs. I could play the US Four Swords now, using my Wii as the actual GameCube and the four GCs as Game Boys (via Game Boy Player), but since my Wii isn't modded, I can't play the Japanese version this way. Now, either with my Freeloader disc or using the Panasonic Q, I can do it! ;)

The site says that one of mine has one. ;)

I could probably sell you mine for cheap, but I don't have it with me. Next time I visit my parents, I'll pick it up and let you know.
