A U.S. release for the DS sequel is still not confirmed.

Okamiden is now trademarked in North America, according to SiliconEra.

The name was also trademarked in Europe recently, and while this still  doesn't confirm a release outside of Japan, it makes it very likely.

Capcom also trademarked Ghost Trick, a puzzle game already confirmed  for a worldwide release, and Exed Exes, which is a vertical  shoot-'em-up that originally came out in North America as Savage Bees.

Okamiden is set for a 2010 release in Japan.

It seems kind of strange they are following up Okami with a sequel on DS when they ported the original game to Wii. The Wii pointer seems like a better fit for the brush, and a tiny screen isn't going to do the art style justice

in another thread we were discussing how the Japanese market is becoming handheld-centric. The Ds's successor will become a port magnet i'm sure.

To me the stylus is the optimal solution to mimic a brush.

This I agree with very much.
