Title: Official March Madness Thread
Post by: Stogi on February 09, 2010, 11:35:07 PM
I've called it since the beginning of the season but Purdue will make it to Elite Eight. That said, who do I have to win it all? Kansas....not a chance. Syracuse is my team.

In fact, I already have a bet with a friend that if Kansas and Syracuse meet, Syracuse will win.

Either way, there isn't a dominate team this basketball season. I'm expecting this season of March Madness to be the finest in recent memory.

I don't really watch college basketball but the exception is March Madness.

I go to the University of Rhode Island and this year we actually have a shot at making the tourney, as long as we don't fall apart like last year...and every year before that, basically.  Today's game against Richmond will likely determine which of those two teams will make it, especially considering their thrashing of Temple the other day.

But...we're 12th in RPI and should have come away with that Temple win earlier in the year, so there's still a good chance.  Not that we'd make it past round one.

Aside from that, I don't really know.  I like Nova for the Final Four at least, and I too see 'Cuse going a long way.  You're right though, it's completely different than last year so it should be fun to watch.

As if to prove my point, Syracuse (3) lost to Louisville in a HUGE upset.

So one of Purdue's best players, Robbie Hummel, is out for the season with a torn ACL. With him, I thought Purdue had a 35% of going to the final. Without him, they probably have a 50% chance of making it to the elite eight. There are plenty of other good players on the team and he isn't even my third favorite, but what he does on both ends of the court, regardless if he scores or not, is just absolutely crucial.

Sucks :-/

Well, two of my Final Four teams are already out, so I'm pretty sure I've lost all hope of winning my pool.

So Syracuse lost yesterday Butler. What a crazy ass upset!

Purdue faces #1 Duke. That should be a hell of a game.

Michigan State faces N. Iowa or in other words the UPSET KING. That should be a damn good game as well.
