Title: X-Mas gaming!
Post by: Tanatoes on December 25, 2009, 10:22:52 AM
Hey all!  What X-mas games are you experiencing today?  I've just done a festive two hour session with Silent Hill (which is gorgeous and amazing)  I also got Darkside Chronicles, but I haven't opened it yet.

I just wish that Amazon had broken street on Crystal Bearers like Gamestop did.. my copy hasn't even shipped yet!

Mostly dealing with the iPod Touch I got for christmas, haven't played Spirit Tracks yet and the copy of Let's Tap I got for 12€ two days ago is still wrapped. We were so busy yesterday with the actual Christmas stuff that the Wii stayed off for the evening.

I got pretty much just money and gift cards so I don't have much to play just yet. My older brother got me a black Wiimote, which I'm not sure I really need but, oh well. My sister, she always insists on finding something for me rather than just giving money or a gift card. The trouble is, she is one of those people who thinks all videogames are created equal. Last year she bought me Thrillville: Off The Rails for Wii, which I had never heard of before, but it actually turned out to be pretty good. This year, I'm not so confident. She got me M&M's Kart Racing, because she "knows how much you like Mario Kart".

I also still have to download the games from NWR's Secret Santa.

I WAS gonna get Happy Holidays Christmas off of WiIWare and send everyone cards, but then I actually read a review of the title and got scared.

I received Little King's Story and A Boy & His Blob. LKS is the only one I've played so far, for an hour this morning. I'm looking forward to getting deeper into them both tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to everybody! Enjoy your games and anything else you do today.

My friend and I started a few new file for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of Fist on Hard Mode.  8.5 hours into it, finished the first boss of the Dynasty Ruins.  Have some awesome yet effective low-level monsters.  The guest characters suck on Hard.

Also resuming my New Super Modern Bros. Woo file with my brother, that we had left off since Thanksgiving.

I started playing Excitebots, which is a lot of fun. I also played Trauma Center: Second Opinion with my sister and her entire family, because my brother in law is a paramedic and wanted to see how the Trauma games were like.

Vudu gifted my Bonsai barber, which I just tried out, fell in love with, and realized was a GREAT creative outlet. Took a screenshot and sent to people on my Wii Friend List.

Also, my brother and I played the Pokemon Rumble Demo. Think... Gauntlet. With Pokemon. We're definitely buying this game.

Today was pretty much full of shopping, I had some gift cards to Target, Best Buy, and GameStop so those are where I spent a lot of time. Here are the games I bought whilst I was out:

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j82/Mop_it_up/Recent%20Additions/DSC00747.jpg

Boom Blox Bash Party
Cooking Mama World Kitchen
Elebits
MadWorld
Marble Saga Kororimpa
Okami
Pikmin
Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party
Sonic and The Secret Rings
The House of The Dead: Overkill
Wario Land Shake It!

I'm probably not going to like MadWorld, I just bought it because of its cheapness. And I'm sure Pap64 would be happy to see I finally got Pikmin, if he recalls my indecisiveness about it when it was first released on Wii.

Goodness Gracious! Someone had fun shopping...

Hmm... Elebits? Kororimpa? Sonic & The Secret Rings? Awesome to see these old games get some love! (That is, if you give them love after playing them. But It'd be cool to find another defender for Sonic & The Secret Rings. I recall that some forumers came to vehemently defend the game when NWR posted their review of the title).

I got Bowser's Inside Story from my sister and Spirit Tracks from my parents...have yet to play either of them yet...

I'm planning on just going out and buying a DSi so I can play them instead of hoping the old Lite will turn up around the house.

I brought my Wii to my girlfriend's family Christmas Eve and we played NSMB, Boom Blox, Guitar Hero, Rock Band and DDR.

I'm also enjoying some sweet WiiWare gifts :D

The only thing I enjoy more than videogames is shopping. ♥

I thought that Sonic and The Secret Rings was considered the "good" Sonic game for the Wii, but perhaps I was wrong? In any case, I don't know when I'll get to all of these games, but buying them was half the fun!

I'd be interested in hearing your impressions of the games you got, after you've had a chance to get into them.

I have a gift card to Best Buy. I suppose I'll probably end up with a game, but I'm not sure what yet.

I got Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Metroid Prime Trilogy for Christmas.

Used my Best Buy gift card for MX vs ATV Reflex.  Not the highest reviewed game, but the first in its genre to offer dual thumb controls.  One for the bike, one for the rider.

So we played Mario Party 8 last Saturday, 20 turns of that Koopa Troopa Monopoly type board.

I was like in last place with zero stars for the vast majority of the game, but my Daisy had 100+ coins from winning almost all the minigames.  Daisy was undefeated in all events involving jerking the Remote.  She's so good at it.  She also won the Russian Roulette "string cutting" game like she was psychic, but it was simple princessy royal luck and justice.  Everyone hates me.

So in the last 2 turns, Daisy used her royal coin reserves and buys 2 mega-properties, stealing 6 stars from other foreclosed players.  To top it off, Daisy wins the bonus star for being the most awesome at minigames, thus winning the game and beating the real estate market.  Everyone hates me even more.

DAISY IS THE ULTIMATE RECESSION-PROOF CHAMPION.

I wish to see Pro videos of Mario Party 8... Daisy action.
