In its first day of release, New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold 422,000 copies, outperforming Super Mario Galaxy's first week of sales (256,000 copies sold). With three more days of release, New Super Mario Bros. Wii could hit more than 500,000 copies sold, joining Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and Capcom's Monster Hunter 3 as Wii titles that sold over 500,000 copies within a week of release.
Samurai Warriors 3 also received strong sales, shifting 81,000 copies in its first day. The Classic Controller Pro bundle of the game is sold out due to low shipments.
Galaxy is a better game
Galaxy is a better game :@
Though the presentation in Galaxy is better, I do think both games deserve just about a perfect 10 for being nothing but pure entertainment. From a player's perspective I'd agree, but a critical perspective must weigh all aspects of a game. In that case I don't think that NSMBWii deserves a 10 and any critical thinker won't give it one. Galaxy might deserve it though, it's hard to say on that one.
I think if games like Galaxy(Zelda to) or future 3D Mario's want sales numbers like NSMB/W they are going to need multiplayer.
And not phony extra Wii pointer multiplayer or phony Tingle GBA multiplayer either, but real deal NSMBW multiaplayer.
"NSMB on the DS doesn't have multiplayer"
huh
