It is apparently a rebirth of the old title on the SNES. It is releasing in February in Japan currently.
Here are some initial screens just released:

Male and Female character have open month syndrome...?
Is that even a real disease?

Maybe they just change the picture to them with open mouths during certain scenes?
-
Hmm... angry look and open mouth equal anger. I never played the original SNES version. Know of any cutscenes where the main characters are angry?

It's been a while, but I think they just scowled at one another and ran into each other.
And those screens aren't inspiring confidence in me at all. I'm just not digging these new character designs.

A-typical for a JRPG.
Sans Four Warriors Of Light: Final Fantasy Spinoff.

Honestly, those designs remind me of Fire Emblem more than anything else.

Fire Emblem and the Trauma Center series both had similar art.
