Title: Will buy a toasted Gamecube for $10 + shipping
Post by: TheNimbleFingersofJustice on April 20, 2003, 07:24:58 PM
Yo, any of you guys fry your gamecube trying to install a mod chip, or by spilling a drink in it, or anything like that? I'll buy it off you for $10 + whatever it costs to ship to me
The gamecube is really cool, but it doesn't have any games that would make it worth buying (to me--no need for indignant responses)
So I think I'll get a broken one (or just a case for one) and hollow it out mostly, then change it into a candy dish with a spring-loaded top:
"Hey, guys, check out my new gamecube! I know yours has that l33t mod installation and you have the Wind Waker for it, but MINE has something even better--" (here, I press the eject button, and the lid pops up to reveal a huge bowl of M&Ms(tm))
h0 h0 h0
So if you or a friend has a broken GC, you oughtta bust out with some sellage

Wow its not obvious that this is flame bait, but anyway LMAO. I love the gamecube games, and people like you are ignorant. But thats still quite funny and I can garantee you alot of peopel will get offended and all defensive and tell the mods to ban you. I could realy care less but hey lets find out where this goes.

haha this is pretty funny. i didnt know that fanboys like you still posted crap like this. maybe you should actually try the games before you start ripping on them. or are you just sour because of the lack of good xbox games? oops sorry. didnt mean to mention that.
anyways this is gonna get locked so it doesnt even matter. good luck with the candy bowl

I can't believe this
Why are you guys getting mad?
What is there to get mad about?
I haven't even finished Zelda 64 yet, so what business do I have buying a gamecube and the Wind Waker?
That you could get angry just because someone here doesn't want to buy a gamecube yet is simultaneously ridiculous and pathetic
Anyway, my offer stands
Added on: (I didn't edit the stuff above here - just didn't want to double-post)
"i didnt know that fanboys like you still posted crap like this. maybe you should actually try the games before you start ripping on them. or are you just sour because of the lack of good xbox games? oops sorry. didnt mean to mention that."
You seem to have missed an apostrophe or two and some capitalization, there. Also, your logic is flawed
Here's what I've reconstructed of it:
- Someone doesn't want to buy a gamecube at the moment Therefore, this person: - Is a "fanboy" (which I take to be some sort of blind fanatic) - Is posting "crap" - Hasn't played Gamecube (I have played every popular game out for the GC, on my friend's cube) - Will become as offended by your X-Box slander as you were by the imagined Gamecube slander
Well, I'm sorry you're offended, kid.
I'll get a Gamecube once I'm tired of the games I'm playing now (SoF2, War3 Frozen Throne beta, and Dance Dance Revolution: Konamix), which will probably coincide nicely with when the Gamecube is out of style and cheaper.
I'll probably get an X-Box too, once Microsoft pulls out of the gaming industry and X-Boxes sell for practically nothing

I think it would be better w/ the X-Box. You'll be able to fit A LOT more candy in there and plus you can jsut take the parts and use it for your PC.

No no, an Xbox would be horrible. If you put in the wrong kind of candy, it would error. If you took the candy out wrong, it would error. If your friend gave you some candy, Bill Gates would send his anti-pirating gestapo after you.
Every few days, you'd have some sort of internal conflict, and the Xbox would refuse to release the candy. Also, knowing Microsoft, you could only use one kind of candy, like....peanut gumdrop sugerdumps. Basically whatever costs a lot, but comes in a nice shiny wrapper and is devoid of any kind of worth or value.
You'd have to re-configure the opening mechanism every three days, and there would be an annoying little pop-up that would announce that you simply MUST upgrade. And, if you don't upgrade within two days, Microsoft would shut it down wirelessly and simultaneously send cops after you for copyright infringement.
You'd have to get new drivers for every new candy you wish to put in. Plus, you'd have to spend thirty bucks on a remote control to activate the Xbox's candy-containing function goodness.
Geez. You'd have a better time keeping your candy in something less obtrusive, like a pit bull. Or a bull. Whichever is lying around.

hah hah hah
All right, I see that the half-witted 14 year olds are actually minority on this forum
I dunno if I should be eating the kind of amounts of candy you could stuff into a big, ugly, hulking X-Box anyway

V.I.P? Woah, is that game still in development? I remember THQ announcing that cash-in back in the N64 days...
And what's this about a candy holder? Pffft, c'mon, a hollow GameCube would make a PERFECT potty for baby. Hell, buy a bunch of broken GC's, gut them and sell them to insane parents as the ultimate potty.
You could even have a TV ad for it, it can showcase the sleek, sexy design on it, followed by a baby with a frustrated look, and then a guy with a thick Japanese accent could scream "GAMEACUBE MODIFICATION! UUUUULLLLTIMATE POTTEEEYYYYY!!"
Best. Invention. Ever.

Actually, the idea with the candy aint bad, but a broken GCN for 10$ is way to little. THose are actually really useful because you send them in and Nintendo is gonna fix it for a fixed price (or give you a new one) which is like 80bucks, which is much cheaper than a new cube.

Huh, *I* thought it was kinda funny. It's actually a pretty cool idea; I once made a bank out of a broken NES system. You could also put a potted plant in it as well, or fill it up with water and put a fish in it. Hey, we're always saying that the PS2 would be better served as a cupholder, so why can't we pick on our own system a bit? Still, I don't think you'll be able to get one for only ten bucks when they could just send it off and get it fixed for less than the price of a new cube.

Now THAT'S good. If I had a spare wad of cash and another NES unit, I'd give it a shot. But with all these shiny new PS2 and GameCube games being released, spare cash is unheard of.

First, quit calling people morons and idiots. I'm really getting sick of this. So he wants to make a GameCube candy dish, so what? I think that's pretty frickin' cool, personally.
That said, please quit feeding the trolls, kids. If you thing someone is breaking the rules, TELL US. Don't jump on the flame bait, because it makes you look as foolish as the original poster. As a result, some of you (like ZELDA) are now recieving your LAST warning.
