Title: PONG MAFIA SIGN-UPS (back to basics)

Turn off your fancy 8-bit graphics, we're going to head back for something a little less complicated. I'm talking about Pong. You hit a ball at me, I hit a ball at you. Rinse, repeat.
There will be one mafia, the PONG MAFIA. They consist of:
"Godfather" Black Paddle, and his henchmen "Crimson" Red Paddle and "Ol' Dirty" Brown Paddle. Also in the mafia is "Elusive Lucy" the Clear Paddle.
Only the Black Paddle can send in the nightly hit. If he gets voted out, then Red becomes Godfather. If Red gets voted out, then Brown becomes Godfather. If Brown gets voted out, then Clear gets the job.
Clear Paddle also has the ability of tricking the Investigator ("Sheriff" Blue Paddle) into the wrong result of an investigation, if Clear Paddle picks the same target for Tomfoolery that Blue picks for Investigating.
Other residents of PONG TOWN include:
"Sheriff" Blue Paddle, who gets to learn the true role of any player in the game, once per night.
"Doc" Yellow Paddle, who can save the life of any mafia-hit player, once per night, if the player he chooses to protect is the same player the mafia chooses to hit. He cannot, however, protect himself.
"Beloved" Orange Paddle, who is so popular in this town that if they are voted out, then whoever led the bandwagon will be lynched out of the game.
"Tricky" Green Paddle, who can negate any player's vote once per night.
The voting day will begin between 7 and 9 AM CST, and end at 11 PM CST nightly.
Night actions will not be accepted until night begins at 11 PM CST (this is a change from my last game)
Night actions will be processed in the order they are received.
No erasing of old votes, if you wish to change your vote, edit your original post to unbold the vote, and add strikethrough. Any votes that don't have strikethrough will be counted, and that will negate any additional votes from that player during the day.
Signups will go through Sunday night, and the game will start Monday Morning.
If we're running low on players, then maybe we'll extend signups a few more days.
EDIT: Just to make this a bit more interesting, I will throw a prize up for grabs. The player on the winning team who is voted MVP after the game is over will earn themselves a gift from the Wii Shop Channel (to up 1000 points) courtesy of yours truly. If there is a tie, then I'll flip a coin.

Yeah I was brought back but I was surprised as the rest of you when I saw that I could come back. Just because it wasn't easy fight for the Pure team doesn't mean that you can blame me for your troubles. Besides I didn't kill you.

But you should be honoured. I don't just choose any old person to be my rival. It's gotta be someone crafty and deceptive, yet still loyal to the right people. You should consider it a privilege.

I really haven't found a style of play I like yet. So I haven't really had a definitive style.

The closest I have ever played to original PONG was ones of those set top boxes some one still had hooked up to ithe TV about 15 years ago. The last PONG I played was Star Wars PONG for MACOS 7.
By playing this game, I will be breaking my no PONG streak.

Also, as far the prize, I think I have the same stance as Vudu: prizes make the game worse because then it tempts people to play for themselves rather than for their team victory.

I don't agree with your point that people will play for themselves. Just play well and you are likely to be acknowledged. Heck in Mario Paintball I was the MVP but didn't survive the whole game. I did what I could in the time I was allowed. Thats all you really can do.

Eh, that only works when we're on the opposite side. And then, when we are, I figure out he's a villain, like Mario Kart Mafia, where he got to live, just because people didn't think his side was a threat.
Edit: Also, in as Pong IV console. (I thought it was called "Super Pong IV," was I mistaken?

Depends on the reason for being nice. If it's just because you feel sorry for me then that's the wrong reason. But then again that's the kind of thing a worthy rival might do...
I don't think I'd want to be your rival, Thatguy. We were rivals in the Mario Kart Mafia which made things interesting, but that also made me get more involved in the game than I would have liked.

How were we rivals? I told you a bunch of things, so we could work together, then I was voted out as a result of circumstances that didn't relate to either of us. No rivalry present.
Though I can be your rival this game if you want. I suppose it's hard to form rivals if you don't have long-term trends that deal with who is on which side. I'd say the closest thing I do have to a rival is Vudu, just because history has shown we haven't been on the same side very often. Hmm...

I guess so. I certainly didn't forget that you were not on my team. But I was never confident enough to concoct a clever plan to get you voted out; mostly I didn't have the guts to attempt anything I came up with. And you know what they say, no guts, no glory. That's certainly been my outcome of the Mafia game, seeing that my only win out of six games was one that I just fell into thanks to having wonderful teammates.
