Title: Suprise Birthday Party thread for S-U-P-E-R
Post by: ShyGuy on August 12, 2009, 11:13:35 PM
This Saturday, our own personal hero Ty Sugar aka S-U-P-E-R has a birthday. (He's turning the big Four-Oh!) unless he lied on his MySpace profile
This is too monumental of an occassion to relegate to the other lame Birthday thread. Please bring in your GIFs and JPGs as gifts for Super's party. No PNGs. If you bring a PNG to the party I will hit you in the head with a bottle of sparkling apple cider.
I'll kick it off with some cake pics I stole off the internet.
I hardly know the guy so I don't know what kind of picture I should post.
HINTS: Post pictures that...
- Makes fun of ignorant gamer culture and somehow link it to Ty - Has something mocking Japanese culture - Links directly to Ty's uber whiteness/nerdness/obnoxiousness

We tried to get you a cake for you b-day, but... (http://i28.tinypic.com/2zo9gsx.jpg)
So... we all pitched in and got you a present! Present: "Happy Birthday dear Sup..." (http://imgur.com/XXK4g.gif)
We were all pretty stumped as to why you were in such a bad mood until we saw how things were on the home front. *Later that night back at SUPER's house* (http://i28.tinypic.com/2z74rj4.jpg)
Happy B-Day SUPER?

I don't give presents to people with a grocery bag over their head.

Fun facts for those who don't know me that well: I've written for Nintendo fansites since 1997ish. I'm really hardcore into shooting/fighting/"pro" games. I've taken a **** ton of Japanese classes and have lived in Japan and am only a tiny technicality away from my degree. I've been to like 7 or 8 consecutive E3s. I invented/ran/wrote PGC trivia for a number of years. I think I've written for PGC/NWR for a longer time than anyone else. I live in Montana. I worked in an arcade for like two years and am pretty handy with fixing stuff. I've been to a lot of other video game events like TGS, some video game music concerts, NARUTO DAY, and took a summer course at Digipen. I love catchphrases.

The big earners were DDR (and a bunch of other Bemani), Soul Calibur 2, Tekken 5, Initial D. We had a lot of other gun and racing games. There were also a lot of ticket/prize/redemption games.
