I've known about this for sometime, but never seen a video about it. It really is awesome! But what MJ music scandal are they talking about that MJ had to be out of Sonic 3?
Thanks to - Beehtoven1111 THE RUMORED STORY: Michael Jackson and his music team were origanlly recruited to do the music for Sonic 3. The music was all finished and ready to go until MJs big scandal broke out. As a result, SEGA thought it would be best to pull his music and name from the game/credits. However, since Sonic 3 was already on a tight time budget (Several levels had to be cut) the music remained, but MJ and his credit did not.

Bump! Confirmation that Micheal was indeed a part of Sonic 3! Not a Rumor no more!
Often speculated and argued, Michael Jackson’s involvement with Sonic 3 has finally been confirmed by way of composer Brad Buxer in an interview by Black and White magazine.
B&W: Can you clarify the rumor that Michael had in 1993 composed the music for Sonic 3 video game, for which you havel been credited?
Buxer: I’ve never played the game so I do not know what tracks on which Michael and I have worked the developers have kept, but we did compose music for the game. Michael called me at the time for help on this project, and that’s what I did. And if he is not credited for composing the music, it’s because he was not happy with the result sound coming out of the console. At the time, game consoles did not allow an optimal sound reproduction, and Michael found it frustrating. He did not want to be associated with a product that devalued his music…
B&W: One of the surprising things in this soundtrack is that you can hear the chords from Stranger in Moscow, which is supposed to have been composed later…
Buxer: Yes, Michael and I had composed those chords for the game, and it has been used as base for Stranger in Moscow

That part is pure BS. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker came out on the Genesis and Master System in 1990 and he said he was happy with how his songs sounded o the game. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 came out in 1994. So that part of the story is dubious.
There is no confirmation that any of the music was done by Jackson. Sega itself had no knowledge of Jackson doing anything for it (it was all just the composer), and he even admits that he doesn't know what music Sega actually put in the game. So I guess what can be confirmed is that Jackson composed some songs that may or may not have been in the final game.
