Title: Wii Fit Plus Receives Budget Price in Japan
Post by: NWR_pap64 on July 24, 2009, 02:55:07 PM
Japanese players won't have to pay much for the title.

Japanese retailers have begun accepting pre-orders for Wii Fit Plus, offering two versions of the title.

The Balance Board Bundle will set players back 9,800 Yen (approximately $105). The stand alone version, however, will cost 2,200 Yen (approximately $22), which makes the release one of the few times Nintendo has priced a new title that cheap.

The Japanese version of Wii Fit Plus is set to be released on October 1. A North America release date has yet to be announced, but it is scheduled for this fall.

I somehow doubt this will be carried over to the US release and will likely be sold at an even 30 bucks.

What's the price of the Wii Fit bundle over there?

30 bucks would still be a hell of a lot better than the 50 i expected.  So I'm happy if that ends up being the case.

So it will still be $90 for the Board bundle, I'm assuming?

I don't own Wii Fit or a Board so I've been considering getting this bundle. I just borrow my parent's board and game whenever I want to play it. They lost interest a while ago anyway.

This will still go for £30-35 as ever.

That would be a very bold move to list it for $20. They see a weak economy and this totally be an easy sell.

In a way, I'm not surprised considering that everyone says that this feels like a expansion pack rather than a full fledged sequel.

Man, I feel for the UK gamers out there. I was appalled at the Call of Duty price hike, wouldn't be surprised if they did they same with Wii Fit +.

I don't even want to imagine what Rock Band: Beatles Edition would cost. Can't they give UK gamers a 'native sons' discount or something? [/off topic]

It is LITERALLY an expansion pack. It still contains all of the content of the first game, just expanded. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it, and I think most other people will feel the same way once they realize what's included.

That would be a real rip if they released the Wii Fit Plus bundle for $90 and the game itself for $20. Is the Balance Board really a $70 accessory?

So basically like Mario Galaxy 2?

Well seeing that the Guitar Hero/Rock Band packs go for £70 for the guitar and £150 for the band set....... it's not going to happen.

I will hold judgement about Wii Fit Plus. but the last budget Nintendo-published title here was Wii Chess.

So basically like Mario Galaxy 2?

If you want to compare 50 hours of new Mario gameplay with six new exercises and a dozen mini-games, go right ahead.

Jonny no get sarcastic comment directed at a certain someone else. ;)

Anyway I'll probably pass on this, EA Sports Active seems like a better package overall.

I never got WiiFot or a balance board. I've always just borrowed my folks' copy. I'm wanting to get my own eventually since the new Monkey Ball will use it.
