I hear Http://www.godaddy.com is a good place to get a site up and running.

I use dotster for my work's website. I don't remember how much it costs, but I think it's something like $80/year.

I use godaddy and networksolutions. Both work fine for domains, however I prefer godaddy. Plus there are a lot of coupons for godaddy online. I also host all my websites (7 of 'em) on Godaddy and have no problems.

I would think it would be much better to have the .org for that domain. Or maybe .edu.

I use Godaddy to register domains.

I have my own webserver. I prefer to because this allows me to have complete control over the environment I host in. After having experience is dealing with all of the other hosting services, I have found that if there is an issue no one reacts quicker to resolve that issue than me. I hate dealing with other IT people because you never get to talk with the person who can really resolve the problem and if you do get their number/email, its forever or never when you hear back from them.

"So how about you lickmynuts......dot com"

"So how about you lickmynuts......dot org"

naw doesn't sound right.

I guess in that context you're right.

You could do that too. I chose against that because it requires to much work from me, and I'm lazy.

I've had good experiences with dreamhost and dotster in the past.

You tell me what you want. I purchase it. Then I demand 10 million dollars for the transfer.

I use GoDaddy.com.

Use the code "GAMER1" at check out and you should be able to get a domain for $7.49/year (usually $9.99 for the cheapest package).
