"The board we've shown so far is like the Darth Vader of skateboards," said Tsui, the director of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. "We're going with a white board which is more consumer friendly. It's much more iPod-like for want of a better term."
The white board, he added, is more likely to encourage people to step onto it. "That's part of the industrial design of the board, to make sure people know it's a skateboard, but it also looks friendly."
Tony Hawk Ride is scheduled for a fall release and is being developed for the Wii by Buzz Monkey, who is working closely with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 developer Robomodo.
The Wii version of Shaun White Snowboarding sold best, and I bet the fact that it used the Wii Balance Board had something to do with it. The Guitar Hero and Rock Band games also sell best on Wii, I guess Wii owners are more receptive to games that use peripherals.
I also wouldn't be surprised if this sold best on the Wii.
The 360 & PS3 crowd aren't exactly the "active" gamers
