Title: Unofficial Wi-Fi Night - Super Smash Brothers Tenth Anniversary

Hi all!
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Super Smash Brothers, the Nintendo 64 funfest where Nintendo worlds collide to create the ultimate party game. To celebrate this milestone, as well as its release on the Virtual Console, I’m hosting a special Wi-Fi get-together in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
THE TIME See the poll, though I’m still not sure on this. If people want to try an earlier date then discuss that within this thread.
THE RULES Nothing but the classics. -Use only the characters who were featured in the first game. -The only items in play will also be those from the first game. The item appearance can be set to anything besides “none”. -Since the game doesn’t have any stages from the original, stage selection will be set to random. Please ensure that all stages are set to “on” in your random stage select menu. -If using GameCube controller, please do not use the C-stick.
For those who missed the first game, here are the usable characters: Captain Falcon Donkey Kong Fox Jigglypuff Kirby Link Luigi Mario Ness Pikachu Samus Yoshi
And the items to be used are: Barrel Beam Sword Bob-omb Bumper Capsule Crate Fan Fire Flower Green Shell Hammer Heart Container Homerun Bat Maxim Tomato Motion-Sensor Bomb PokéBall Ray Gun Red Shell Starman Star Rod

This game's thread has been buried. I guess I should have waited until the US VC release because then I could have dropped it there...
You can use as many different characters as you want Maxi, so long as you stick with the twelve listed. You don't have to use the same one the whole night.

Why would I want random people to sign up? This is for the people here. And it doesn't matter so much whether or not more people sign up since there are now 4 people which is enough to fill a room.

We could always do two nights like what happened with Battalion Wars II. Though setting up a time might be troublesome, since we all live in different timezones. Perhaps we should list the time we're available so we can find one which works?

Well let's see, tomorrow and Friday I should be good for any time after 7PM Eastern. Saturday I'm not sure about, but I could probably make 9PM Eastern. Sunday is doubtful, I'm not even going to say "maybe" for that day.

Honestly, I can't brawl continuously much anymore. I'm just not as into it as I used to be. I never quite got the spark back after the switch from Melee to Brawl.
Plus I couldn't play half of the characters I wanted to play because they were all Brawl exclusive.

That match we played where the three of us were using Samus was pretty funny.

Anything less isn't real Smash Brothers.
On that note I'm sad that they took out the "very high" item appearance percentage. That's the one I always use...

I liked using the Very high setting when I had OHKO items on with 2.0 Damage ratio.

I hear that. What I miss are those points for smashes, techniques, etc. I used to enjoy point matches where victory didn't necessarily go to the one with the most KOs. Also exposed the "bullies" & such.

I noticed I scored higher when I stayed away from just going after the fighter with the highest percentage. Still have no idea what a "cheap ko" is though so I'd just let people trying to get back on the stage come back before sending them packing. Basically, I went for somewhat chivalrous approach.

Maybe he's serious/hardcore/pro now. Tournaments do that. Light-heartedness & playing for fun don't get you far in that atmosphere.
Still. Good matches though if not tough.

I noticed that. I only put it on stock/time thinking I was being fair to whoever wanted what but I prefer the chaos a time battle can bring out in everyone.

I mournall of the missing Melee'ers. I was especially fond of Marth and was a pretty good hand at MewTwo, thought for some reason I suck at Lucario. They are the main reason that I feel the game should have been delayed longer. The folders for Pichu, Marth, MewTwo, Dixie Kong and like two others found on the Brawl disk with nothing in them shows they were planned but cut. :P I blame all that silly dev focus on stickers and SSE.

Firstly, I think you mean Roy as Marth is in SSBBrawl. Secondly, Pichu wasn't one of the seven planned for SSBBrawl, she's the only one from Melee who was never even planned to return (Young Link doesn't count, Toon Link = Young Link). I can't express how sad that makes me; the moment I laid eyes on the adorable little thing I was completely enamoured.
