Title: NBA2K10 Coming to Wii
Post by: Skeeter8887 on May 28, 2009, 12:23:13 PM
Take-Two intends for all their sports titles to be multiplatform.

In a post-earnings conference call with GameSpot, Take-Two’s Ben Feder spoke about their sports business and its struggle to be profitable.  He noted their plans to expand the list of platforms for which they will release their NBA titles. It was then revealed that NBA 2K10 would arrive on Wii when it ships across multiple platforms this fall.

"All of our sports products need to be multiplatform," Feder said. "As we said over and over again on these calls, Nintendo was a terrific and important partner for Take-Two, and we expect that to continue over time, and especially in our sports business."

I wonder if Nintendo is important enough that there will be a GTA game for Wii (Rockstar is a Take-Two company). Chinatown Wars was awesome and I liked it more than GTA4. Anyways more support is always a good thing.

Reggie's talks finally having some effects?

Think we can get the same treatment with all the rest of your major franchises?

Maybe they'll buy the NBA Jam license from Midway and make that.  It'd be perfect for motionz

Hopefully the game will turn out much better than EA's NBA Live Wii games, as I've been wanting to tear through a season of console NBA with my Jazz for a while now but all the Wii basketball games have been garbage.

I want a Wii Motion Plus centric basketball game!

Hmm, but wouldn't Motion Plus be a little too sensitive for this sort of game?  I love basketball, but I suck at playing it and would rather not have that translate accurately into the experience via Motion Plus.

Maybe have it optional then like Tiger Woods?

That'd be fine with me.  Make it available for those that want to use it, but leave the option there for those that don't.  That's how it should be with Motion Plus in games that don't necessarily need it.

It shouldn't be hard to do better than NBA Live but, considering it will be developed by the same team responsible for MLB 2K for the Wii, I wouldn't have much hope. I hope they prove me wrong. If it is actually good and have online gaming, you should invite me to put your Jazz against my Mavericks.
