Title: Problems with my Wii
Post by: bosshogx on May 12, 2009, 08:49:42 AM
Just wondering if anyone else has had the problem I'm having now. I picked up Klonoa a couple of weeks ago and went to play it. Problem is that my Wii wouldn't turn on via my Wii Remote. I thought it was a syncing issue or low batteries, but that wasn't the case. I then tried to turn it on manually and nothing would happen. No matter how many times I pressed or held the power button, the system didn't respond at all.
I unplugged and plugged in the power cord and got the system to power back up via the front button. Everything was back to normal. A few days later the problem came back. I did some experimenting and found that I could turn the system on and off with the remote after power cycling the console.
Nothing special happened to my Wii before this occurred. No lightning strikes, power surges, abuse, or anything. I've had my Wii since launch and always leave it in standby (orange light) mode. The really odd part is that even when I can't power the system on, I can still load and unload discs via the eject button.
Any thoughts or suggestions before I call Mr. Nintendo?

I suggest calling ninty, from my experiences with them here in sweden they are nice people and usually knows their stuff.
...just don't forget to delete homebrew channel before sending it in, i did, and it did cost me dearly, I had the pixel problem and if it hadent been for me hacking the console they would have fixed it fo free.

How did you know I had Homebrew on it? :P
Its not what you think though, I have to have some way of playing Tatsunoku vs Capcom since Nintendo is still living in the 90's with their region locking crap. Anyways, I think I'll wait until I play Punch-Out!! before sending it in.
