Title: Major Konami announcement tomorow!?

Translation = According to certain rumours, Konami should make a significant annoncement Monday 14 next April 14:30 French hour.

Could this be the rumoured Metal Gear Solid game that Miyamoto is working on?! Or some Disney game? I guess we'll find out soon enough *sits there waiting... twiddles thumbs*

Not rumor.  Konami is making a Metal Gear game for GameCube.  I would say yes... this is the announcement.

hoping for sum footage if there is an announcment on mgs for cube but i doubt it, they will more than likely save it for e3

Lots of companies do this. They will discuss a game shortly before E3, show enough footage so the press develops an erection, then say E3 is where you can really check said product out. We should get a deluge of announcements from different companies in the weeks leading up to E3. Im on some ol eff Konami ish though be cause they treat our smallish but loyal GC following like we are peasants without a cent to spend on games. No love for Konami.

You are bickering about a DDR game when we get Metal Gear Solid? I think we get the better end of the deal.

Now, if you were talking about a SH3 or Castlevania port, I would agree.

Man, Ace, you gotta get that fixed.

But back to the point.  Didn't Konami already formally announce that they are working on MGS?  I don't think they would have footage of the game already, and if they did, I don't think Nintendo would allow them to show it off, we all know how secretive Nintendo likes to be with their games.

Well, like people have said, it isn't rumored- it's official. Also, Miyamoto isn't working on it, he's just the one that mentioned it in an interview.

And I'm equally as pissed that the XBox gets DDR. It's OBVIOUS it's a heavy Japanese style game that most XBox fans just won't like- at least with Nintendo fans we already like Japanese style games and are much more open to a game like DDR. Jesus- Konami's gotta undestand that taking bribes for games that won't sell is STUPID.

Most developers don't announce games at the beginning of the development cycle- they usually announce them a little into it. I'm sure Konami has at least the ability to show footage of MGS for the Gamecube. Also, Nintendo couldn't do diddly squat to stop Konami from showing footage- Konami's a 3rd-party.

welll about the annocument maybe it won't even happen but if it does maybe a new Konami game or MGS footage and mouse_clicker i have an xbox and a GC(and a Ps2) and since i go both to GC and Xbox fan sites.I will have to disagree with the xbox fans won't like DDR beacause alot of the are really happy its coming to Xbox and especially since they it has Live connected with it.

The *only* XBox owning friend of mine who likes DDR (loves DDR- pretty good at it, too) also owns a Gamecube and, in my opinion, is very open minded. The rest of my XBox owning friends would never even watch someone play DDR- one told me he wouldn't play it because no game that has the word Dance in the title twice can be good. All of my friends who ARE DDR fans can actually be described as Nintendo fanboys- they bash the XBox for fun on a reglar basis (only one actually owns a PS2 and DDRMAX, as do I). The fact is most XBox owners are simply not interested in games like DDR- I mean, look at the top selling games on the XBox. Halo, Splinter Cell, Mechassault, Unreal Championship- are you seeing a pattern? Nothing that has a lot of Japanese influence. I think if they could find out some how, you'd see that just about everybody who bought DDR for the XBox is a fan of Japanese culture (anime, games, etc). I'd bet money on that, and lots of it. XBoix owners don't buy games just because they can go online.

MOST people who buy DDR are probably fans of Japanese culture.  I know kids in my school that love DDRMax and don't care about Japan or its culture.  The games they own are mostly shooting and fighting games, which are not heavily influenced by Japan itself.  You'd lose your bet there, buddy.

DDRMax would have been great on the GCN, but I think MGS will help Nintendo in the long run, especially in improving their kiddy image (sorry for bringing the word "kiddy" into this)

I know MGS will have a much better affect on the GCN but I wish we could just have both. I love DDR sooooo much, but now that I see that its going to the X-Box I have a very small feeling it will eventualy come out for the cube. If it happend that way with MG it could happen with DDR.

told you it might not even come but i will laugh at myself if it does and mouse_clicker there isnt alot of japanese games for xbox and i went to www.xbox365.com(the site i always go to for xbox especially the forums)i go to the forums and they have a topic about and you see people wanting to play it and some of them only have an xbox so you have to see from both perspectives to see that we(xbox fans and me )would like this game

I can't wait for the announcement! I've been looking forward to 'Mickey Mouse's Easter Egg Hunting' for the longest time!

Ok, that was a joke, but if there is announcement, I bet it's something totally homo that's made for 6 year old kids with Downs Syndrome and also have ADD.

This type of discussion has absolutely no business on these forums. Since I assume none of us live the lives of any of the discussed inviduals, who are we to say what would be better? It's none of our business and is completely off topic.

If this continues, a perfectly good thread will get locked or a forum member will get banned for a thoughtless mistake. Maybe even two or three members will get banned. There's no reason for it.

Hehehe DDR, if you want to dance so much just turn on some music and dance, why do u have to have arrows scrolling up on a t.v. to dance, that is pretty weird.  Also i hope the announcement is a whole new type of game and not just about Metal Gear.

Hmmm.... maybe they're waiting until E3 to announce it.. well heres my speculation about Metal Gear Solid GC...
I recall Kojima mentioning he wanted to eventually do an MGS prequel that would probably take place around WWII. Maybe thats the GC game that's in development? Metal Gear Solid Zero?
It's been rumored for a very long time that Metal Gear Solid 1 was being remade for the Nintendo GameCube. Well, with one of the rumours being that the game will be titled "Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes", and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance being ported to the Xbox and PC but not GC, i think the Gamecube Metal Gear Solid game will be a remake of both Metal Gear Solid AND Metal Gear Solid 2. Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 in the same package, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes.
Miyamoto may only be involved because he's implementing the GBA-GC link features.
