Today Namco Bandai unveiled a new game for the Wii called The Munchables. The game is about a band of evil food-based space pirates, led by the vile Don Onion, invading the home planet of The Munchables, with the only hope for The Munchables being to eat the vile space pirates to conquer hunger and restore peace to their planet.

The Munchables features over 150 different enemies, vibrant worlds, and protagonists that grow when they eat their foes.  It also has a mirror mode that lets you play levels in reverse.

The Munchables is set to be released in May.

Welcome to the staff, Mr. Flames of Chaos.

Any game with a villain named Don Onion has a lot of potential.

Graphically the game looks gorgeous but the plot is just a little lame in my opinion, then again a lot of great videogames have bad or corny plots.

Woah... is this... a platformer?

Is this going to be an ironic game? Like, it looks cute but has some dark humor?

You eat enemies and you grow bigger, IGN actually posted some screens if anyone is interested. But by the sound of the gameplay mechanics it seems like it's a mixture of Katamari and Noby Noby Boy except it looks weirder oddly enough. But graphically it looks pretty nice and clean. In a way I'm hoping the game will be a good game since I like Noby Noby Boy and Katamari Damacy(with an exception to Beautiful Katamari).

Congratulations, Flames.  I could swear I saw the name Lukasz in the staff list a while back, though.

This game's plot reminds me of an episode of the Powerpuff Girls.

Geez, why can't the Wii find balance?

It's either Elebits or Manhunt 2.
Dewy's Adventure or No More Heroes.
The Muncheables or Madworld.

Rated T for teen is a sadly neglected ESRB rating on the Wii. ;)

I'm playing this game right now.
I'm loving the paper-cut animations, like OMG they are so awesome. The intro and prologue are nothing but spectacular.
So far in terms of gameplay it is quite simple. All I do is move around, eat, jump, attack, lock-on, and level up as I evolve.
