Title: Paint DS is coming April 13th, according to Amazon
Post by: Chozo Ghost on February 11, 2009, 05:02:04 AM
Linky Link (http://www.amazon.com/Paint-Nintendo-DS/dp/B0017LSXCI/ref=br_nf_9_10?pf_rd_p=369756201&pf_rd_s=center-11&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=496994&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=19488XV8AHY5BWHABGGD)

I never even heard of this before. Maybe this is a stripped down version of that Bob Ross painting game that we were promised years ago, but never actually arrived.  :'(

All I know about is Paint By DS which seems to be a paint-by-the-numbers non-game...

$30 seems like allot for a fun ap not really a game.

This is the kind of thing I'd probably like better if it was on a console, so I could actually appreciate graphically the different painting styles on a TV rather than a tiny portable screen. Granted, no one would ever give a console budget to a game about painting...

Well, Photoshop is over a hundred dollars so if it's good enough it could be worth its price and then some... The chance of that being the case? Almost 0%.

I see your point. However I think Photoshop is incredibly over price software. Yeah its useful but really I don't see why the price point stays so high for that. I hope you can save in the game and it has tons of tools and options. This might be the ultimate doodle thing if done correctly.

I'll just guess you never used much of Photoshop's power.

i guess i'm just cheap. A great program shouldn't cost MORE than a great game. I understand new version of Microsoft Windows or Mac OS being expensive but not a program.

You seem to have no grasp on what something is worth.

I thought it was just assumed that Adobe jacks Photoshop's price up by hundreds of dollars just because they know people will pay that much. I've used the programs (sparingly), and I can't believe it costs more than $90. Hell, even the upgrades cost twice that much.

Just use GIMP instead. It's 100% free and does the same stuff.

It's professional software, they expect most of their customers to be companies looking for tools for their departments. For consumer-level software there's PS Elements I think.

Only if you use only a small subset of PS's features.

Exactly.  The software isn't meant for home users.  Most people wouldn't be able to figure out how to use 90% of the program even if they tried.
