Title: NEW LAPTOP! HUZZAH!
Post by: Stogi on January 27, 2009, 04:45:50 AM
I went to work today and was shocked when my boss handed me a satchel and inside, a new laptop! Now it's not the most powerful nor is it mine to keep. It's officially on loan to me for as long as I am at the university working or studying. It comes with all the perks of being a university laptop, such as free access to software and to technical support.
Sweet.
Check it out!

Unfortunately, this new miniputer doesn't have as much space as my "classic" laptop. I'm going to have it keep it around so I can access my music collection (going on 14000 songs).

I guess I didn't. But when did you become so uptight?

I think you just need to understand that
A) Most people don't partake in illegal drugs, despite what you might think B) This website has visitors of all ages; my 10-year old cousin got a Wii for Christmas, and I'd prefer it if he didn't see images like that if he chose to visit the site

I don't mind all the weed talk, i know plenty of people that partake and enjoy it, but its another thing to casualy browse the site at work and scroll down a few pictures of a laptop, then suddenly see your stash. If any coworkers see me looking at what they think is High Times-like content, stupid rumours start flying around.

I always wondered about this. I've known a few rabid pot-heads and other heavier drug addicts in my time, and they seem to act as if it's perfectly normal. Now, I always feared that maybe they were right and everyone around me was on drugs and *I* was the weird one.
Pale, is illegal drug discussion going to be allowed in a serious context? Like in a general chat sort of way, having real discussion on the ramifications and supposed benefits of drug use? Or is it going to be like political threads and just no talking about it whatsoever?

I assume it will be like discussing game piracy. It can be discussed, but not endorsed, encouraged or instructed.
Except for SUPER who is above the law when it comes to game piracy talk.

There's something wrong with this sentence.....hmmm.

A) Most people DO partake in recreational drugs, illegal or not B) Conversations about sex and sex with a stripper are alright though?

I owuld have been more tempted to let it go if it was just the funhouse, but because it was your avatar which shows up everywhere, I thought you should change it.

Sorry to have to kick your new Laptop's ass, but this is what I'm currently posting from (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9172511&type=product&id=1218043606827) - got it when it was on sale for $1049, too. I'm not a huge fan of the game, but it runs Crysis at it's highest settings without problem.

That is a nice laptop. That's not a bad value.
Well after my first day I realized it has limitations. It is, however, perfect for my day away from home. There are alot of nice little things such as the built in camera/mic and the 3 hour battery. The 40 gb of space and 1 gb of ran assures that I keep it professional. Either way, I'd be an asshole to complain.
