My entire experience with the band is their appearance on The Simpsons, and if I remember correctly the song they were playing was decent enough.

This really cracked me up.  ;D

Topic: Any Phish heads among us?

I had a bunch of friends who listened to them in college.  (Side note:  All were what you could consider to be pot heads.  Coincidence?  ;))

They're not bad, but they're not exactly my cup of tea.

What the hell are you two talking about?

My entire experience with the band is their appearance on The Simpsons, and if I remember correctly the song they were playing was decent enough.

I'll have to watch that episode to hear it again. EDIT: Just watched it and the name of the song is "Run like an Antelope". If you can find a high quality LIVE version, I recommend you listen to it because that's actually a really good song. The Simpsons only had about 10 seconds of it.

But anyways, Phish is one of my favorite bands but even I'll admit that it takes some effort to listen to the band at first; similar to the grateful dead. However, after a few jams you'll start dissembling the music and begin to notice how ridiculously talented each of the members are, but even more importantly, how well they listen to each other. There is no band out there that can communicate on stage as well as they do. Their improvisations are so well done that they sound as if they were written. I recommend everyone to watch a live DVD and see it first hand. You won't regret it.

I remember going to a Halloween show and literally being so overwhelmed that I cried. Not because I was extremely happy or sad; but because I was completely blown away. Watching them play filled me with so much emotion that it literally came pouring out. It was a very, very strange sensation. One that I had only hoped was possible.

Anyway, I made this thread in order to see who was excited about their reunion. I guess it's just me.

It's what I do best.  ;D

The two bands are similar in the fact that they have a lot of the same fans.  And if you're not familar with the music, I could see how they could get mixed up (i.e. all jam bands sound the same).

Me:  What do you think of Public Enemy?
Maxi:  Eh, I'm not really a fan of N.W.A.

I kind of like them.  Good jamming sessions, though.  Truckin' is a good song.
