Title: Gaming Setup '09 Edition
Post by: Flames_of_chaos on January 08, 2009, 10:22:35 PM
I figured why not make a fun thread about showing off your video game rig or set up that you use. I'll kick it off with a picture of my rig.

The plushie in the middle of the PS3 and 360 is a nintendogs plushie from Nintendo World that I got when I bought Nintendogs, the squirrel plush in the middle of the PS3 and Wii is a pre order bonus for Rune factory 2, between the Wii and TV is Teddie from Persona 4. Near Yoshi there's a Fallout 3 bobble head, Polliwag, Zim action figure, and a Chimera action figure and a Wii Speak hiding somewhere. Top of the TV is the complimentary Sensor Bar and Playstation EYE with a nice Izuna 2 poster on the wall.

We recently redid our basement and I've basically taken it over all for myself. In doing so I downgraded TVs, but I will soon be getting a nice new HD set.

Are those drum silencers or are those the Rock Band 2 instruments?

They're Rock Band 2 instruments. I got my 360 in October and I figured I could wait a month if it meant better instruments.

and why does your basement have windows

It's only partially underground, the bottoms of the windows are very close to the ground. I just call it the basement because it's simpler to say.

A lot of basements are like that, actually pretty much every basement I've ever seen is like that. Basements are only completely underground in old houses.

My best friend's house, two houses down from this one and presumably built around the same time, has a completely underground basement.

You can see the basis of my setup here...

I run an Athena speaker system.  You can't see the left and right channels but they are just their standard bookshelf series.  I have a definitive technology sub in the back that handles plenty of bass.  It's hard to make out, but the PS3 is under the little cubby that has the wavebirds and such.  I have a spot on the other side of the bottom sectional area for a 360 if I ever bite the bullet and get one.

I'm pretty proud of my entertainment system, as it's stacked up pieces of furniture I had prior to buying my new TV.  It's like modern er something. =P

Is this competing with the megaton game setup thread in the casual general category?

My setup is just a tv with a wii hooked up to it, lol.
