The Pokemon Ranger demo was short and to the point. The game started with my character and his companion Chimchar at the base of a forest, which was on fire. My mission was to capture a Squirtle and harness its aquatic power to put out the fire. I saw a few Pokemon on my brief journey. The first was the flagship Pikachu, whose power can recharge the styler. I also captured a Duduo, which I then rode quickly to avoid engaging other Pokemon. With some effort, I finally captured the Squirtle to rain down on the fire and complete the mission.
Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia will include Pokemon from the Diamond/Pearl iteration. The demo I played was colorful, but brief, so it's hard to judge how the full game will turn out. However, if you were a fan of the previous editions, this one seems to be an improvement, and if you don't like Pokemon, now might be the time to give them another try.
