Lying in the grass, Shadow the Hedgehog came back to consciousness. "I can't... die here... What a dream," he muttered, "Shadow the Hedgehog. Why does that name haunt me? It's the only thing I can remember. And that gruesome image..."
Hearing a ruckus, Shadow walked over to a group of animals all standing by a pit of lava. They had surrounded Dr. Robotnik (Mr. Jack to his friends)and were accusing him of being responsible for the death of Gumbouzzo the Giraffe.
"He's always trying to hurt us and turn us into his robot creations," shouted one of the animals.
"I hate his moustache," shouted another animal.
"I hate fat people," shouted the slow animal.
"Silence! I am Dr. Ivo Robotnik, the greatest scientific genius in the world!" Dr. Robotnik cried out. Turning to the crowd, he yelled, "Dummies, dummies, dummies, dummies! None of you have the right suspect." Seeing Shadow, Dr. Robotnik cried out, "Ah Shadow. Say hi, and be friends."
"I'm Shadow... the Hedgehog. I was created to bring order and justice to the humans," he began to realize.
"Ah very good. Then no doubt you will be able to help out in a little pickle I find myself in. These people have a disagreement with me. Uhh, Shadow, I have a revalation. Everyone thought you died during that horrible incident... but I rescued you with one of my robots... you lost your memory that's all... You wouldn't hurt a friend would you?"
The other animals began to argue. That's not true. Who let Shadow in charge? In every game he appears in, he always screws up. Listen to me not him.
Getting upset, Shadow yelled out,"I'm Shadow the Hedgehog... no one can tell me what to do!"
"That's right, Shadow," Dr. Robotnik laughed.
"I am Shadow the Hedgehog. I and only I know what is best. No one can tell me what to do. This is WHO I AM!"
"Alright, calm down," Robotnik cautioned.
Suddenly, Shadow lapsed into an insane giggle, followed by an insane chuckle, as images flashed through his mind. "The pieces are all coming together now... it's clear what must be done. (turns around sharply) Doctor! You're going straight to the place you created me from!"
"This is madness!" Robotnik cried out.
"THIS IS TRUE!" Shadow yelled back. Then he kicked Dr. Robotnik off the edge of the pit into the boiling lava.
"Goodbye, Doctor! Death to all who oppose me!" Shadow cried out. Then he saw the Yellow Chaos Emerald that Dr. Robotnik had dropped. That meant Dr. Robotnik was the killer.
"A Chaos Emerald?! You've got to be kidding me, guys! This is like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me," Shadow said excitedly, "Aw snap. Where's that damn fourth Chaos Emerald?" With that, Shadow wandered off.
The rest of the animals stood in silent shock and wondered about the state of Shadow's mental health. Needless to say, they stood there a long time.
That night, the Genesis mafia was getting edgy. Two days and there were still as many characters as when this game started. They needed to start taking out some of the lamer characters. That's when they settled on Golden "Tikal" Phoenix. Tikal had only appeared in one game and was just cluttering up the Sonic universe. Who would miss her?
So, they broke into her home only to find Tikal waiting for them. "I've been expecting you. I can sense your negative energy?"
"You're the hussy that activated the Chaos Control last night," one of the mafia members realized, "We lost our hit because of you. Where's that Chaos Emerald?"
"The 7 Emeralds are the servers. Chaos is power, enriched by the heart. The controller serves to unify the chaos.," Tikal explained.
"Huh?"
"Uh... The 7 Emeralds can change our thoughts into power. If this Emerald controls that power..." Tikal said, realizing her words just weren't getting through to the mafia, "How can I make you understand? All this fighting, stealing, and killing, can't be the right path to peace."
"Right. She's an extremist. Kill her now," the godfather ordered. The goons carried out the order and Tikal was whacked by the Genesis Mafia.

Narrator: Seriously. Would it kill you to choose someone else? Well, maybe it would in the game but gah! The Day 2 curse continues. And now back to your previously scheduled story.
Meanwhile, Sonic was getting antsy. "Who's game is this anyways? It says Sonic the Hedgehog mafia, not Shadow the Hedgehog mafia. People only like him because he found the killer. Well, I found a clue to."
With that, Sonic read his clue:
Dear townies,
no matter what thatguy says or does, don't trust him. He claims to be a townie, but I have no way of knowing for sure.
:heart;:heart;:heart;:heart; Love Townie Spokesman :heart;:heart;:heart;:heart;
The animals were stunned at this clue.
"C'mon. It means we have to go to the Casino Night Zone," Sonic yelled.
"How does that make any sen..." an animal asked but was cut off.
"It doesn't matter. It's just part of the story," Sonic answered and then raced off.
