Title: Maintenance.
Post by: Dasmos on September 10, 2008, 09:00:03 AM
Was this "maintenance" just to add advertisments to the other layouts? Do the 33 people who use alternate layouts really need to be punished like this?

Arg, the layout is almost unusable, it's so much more compacted than it was. Drastic measure will be taken.

the changed messed with a couple of buttons on the layout in Firefox three if you can fix that. Also give those adverts a couple of pixels worth of margin.  They annoy me touching the borders like that ;)

Also if there are a bunch of ads about gay dating, I'm blockin' 'em, period.

Yikes there are bugs in this layout now.  Some times everyone's post is in bold. It's really annoying.  That's not the only thing I'm seeing either.

I'm glad there are now ads in my layout. I click on them once in a while to help pay for Jonny's Magic the Gathering addiction.

This is due to the transition from the last forum software. Before custom titles could contain HTML tags, now they can't. As a result anyone with HTML in there before had it stick in the transition to this software. With Morari's custom title being in bold, it is in turn affecting the rest of the posts on the page including his own.

I was wondering what was up. Thanks for clearing up my confusion. Now I have to find a way to make everything back to how it was.

The default Core theme is messed up.  How could NWR mess THAT up?

It looks like the forum navigation at the bottom of the page has disappeared as well. That is going to drive me nuts. I usually get to the end of a thread and use the links there to navigate back to the board.

Oh rock-on, the Core theme works fine in SeaMonkey (glad i just installed it on this work comp).

The major issues still stand in IE.

That little quick modify button that I use constantly is also broken now.  Or rather, the button brings up the edit box as expected, but it doesn't save my changes.

I don't see any problems.  I'm guessing people need to clear cookies or something.

It seems deleting cookies fixed the problem I mentioned, but it didn't solve everything.  I'm off to explore the issue.

The problem is the ads aren't properly spaced and the side ad exclusively commands the the column of real estate beneath it despite showing nothing else.

The signature text is also obstructively big, as big as the poast text.

This was apparently a change made by SMF.

Time is money, so yes you did. You have my sympathies.

Core theme is really broken.

When I try the main "modify post" page, only half of the screen is used for the text mod area and the previous post; the entire right side is empty with the exception of the right-ad banner.  Another apparent change by SMF.
