Title: Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Tripz
Post by: ShyGuy on August 21, 2008, 11:30:03 PM
You have to use your Wii Fit board for something, and this looks better than EA's Skate It. Is Ubisoft stepping up? Graphical overhaul makes it look almost as good as SSX Blur

I don't care what tweaks Ubi adds to this game. I feel betrayed by the company. They come out strong at launch, have a little stumble grasping the controls with Red Steel and Rayman, fall on their face with Far Cry, then proceed to dig a hole to Hell with the Petz and other random crap.
They act as if Shaun White is a super hot athelete and his name should be turning heads. I never even heard of the dude until this game was announced. I at least heard of Tony Hawk before he had a game with his name on it.
I'm giving Ubi the big fat middle finger until they put out a AAA effort that at least equals the effort behind The Conduit. And if Ubi turns out to be the publisher for The Conduit, then I guess they win. But we're pretty sure they were the ones who wanted to 'crap it out'.

K, guys. This was REALLY AWESOME. I wanna here all those haters bitching because the game is just great. It felt great playing it, it all made sense, there were no odd glitches or anything. It was just real real fun. Satisfying, EVERYONE NEEDS TO PLAY THIS.
Really blew me away playing it at PAX

In before the lol ubisoft makes crap games posts.
That's encouraging to know, did you play it with the balance board or with wii remote/nunchuk?

Balance board. It was AWESOME. You guys seriously, you should try it. It was pick up and playable but still deep enough to want more.

Did it feel more like SSX or 1080?

Was Skate It at PAX, did you try it? If so which one do you think is better this or Skate It?

Well so far Skate It. Skate it was just so satisfying and fun with the Balance Board. By no means does that mean that Shaun White wasn't awesome. Didn't this very site give both these games negative impressions? Cause they freaking rule now.

I had a chance to play both this game and Skate It at the German Games Convention in Leipzig and whilst I was impressed by both games I have to say that Shaun White's Snowboarding was a lot more intuitive and fun. Ubisoft may have been guilty of making poor games for the Wii in the past but this certainly isn't one of them and I'm really looking forward to it.

This and Skate It desperately need the balance board to be sold separately. IF I have the money I would totally buy WiiFit just for Skate It and Shaun White. These games rule.
