Title: Florida, Here I Come!!
Post by: Mysticspike on July 21, 2008, 07:55:48 PM
I am leaving for Florida on Friday and getting back on Saturday (8 days from Friday). I have been to Florida 2 times before, once for Disneyworld and once for Universal Studios, so both in Orlando, but this time I'm going to Tampa, and boy is it going to be hot down there! All I've got to say is a lot of shade and a lot of swimming is planned, no doubt!

NICE, Tampa rocks. Used to live there, really awesome place. If you don't mind me asking, where are you headed specifically? I would guess Busch Gardens and possibly Tarpon Springs, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah, I will be going to Busch Gardens for one of the days, but other than that not much is planned out I guess just a lot of swimming and roaming around.

And I actually made a mistake. I will be leaving this Saturday, not Friday. So a week in Tampa.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to Busch Gardens because I simply loooove rollercoasters. I used to be terrified, but now I will go on literally ANY rollercoaster.

If you love roller coasters, you'll have to come visit me some time. No park beats out Cedar Point for coasters.

... Nothing really. I mean not much is going on there anyways because none of the people I told to join joined and no one rat told to join joined so I don't really know what's going to happen unless rat gets some supporters of his site to post. But I might still have internet because I use my laptop every time I go on the internet and we are obviously taking it with, but I'm not sure if our hotel has wireless internet. If it does, I will post here, and at bim-dizzle.

Well thanks for joining, I know you joined, I'm just saying/repeating rat's words that we need more people to be posting to get the forum going.

... Ummm... Yeeeaaah...

Okay, well anyways, internet is working again, so now I can talk about my vacation, because I am definitely not taking the time to type it all out on my cell phone, that would take forever.
So Tampa is really fun, I'm having a great time here, and yes Mr. Jack, I went to Busch Gardens. I actually have been going there a lot, twice so far. The first day I went there, I went on Gwazi (Tiger side, not Lion), Sheikra, and Kumba. On the second visit, I went on Sheikra (again, plus, after many long hours of convincing, got my mom to go on with me), and also went on Montu. I am going one more time tomorrow to go on the Lion side of Gwazi, plus the Scorpion, and I'm guessing a third ride on the Sheikra, because I could never get enough of that adrenaline rush from that ride. Simply amazing.

Now if you have not been to Busch Gardens yet, you are probably pretty confused, so this explanation of the roller coasters might help...

Sheikra (http://www.buschgardensafrica.com/Bgt/ar_sheikra.aspx)
The Sheikra is the largest, most fun, and most terrifying roller coaster in the park. It is short, but intense. The first thing that happens is a straight down, 90 degree drop from 200 feet in the air. The second drop is also straight down but from 150 feet in the air. Simply amazing, the best roller coaster ever. Oh yeah, and it's floorless.

Montu (http://www.buschgardensafrica.com/Bgt/ar_montu.aspx)
Montu is a hanging/inverted roller coaster, meaning the car things that you sit in are below the track. It is kind of the most intense other than the Sheikra.

Kumba (http://www.buschgardensafrica.com/Bgt/ar_kumba.aspx)
Kumba is just a normal roller coaster with a medium intensity.

Scorpion (http://www.buschgardensafrica.com/Bgt/ar_scorpion.aspx)
Scorpion is the least scary roller coaster of the three plain roller coasters, and again, just a normal one.

Gwazi (http://www.buschgardensafrica.com/Bgt/ar_gawazi.aspx)
Gwazi has a Lion side and a Tiger side to it, they are both just about the same. It is the only wooden roller coaster in the park, so it cannot go upside down, but it is still a fun ride if you don't mind having your brain rattled out of your skull from vibrations because of the wooden track.

Well, I hope that helps.

Yeah, you need to come up this way if the opportunity strikes, just for the enjoyment of coasters if nothing else. The Millenium Force needs to be ridden to be believed. 300 ft in the air over a lake, words cannot describe.

YES!! I will be sure to try it out sometime or another, but I'm afraid I will not be able to just "stop on by" because we are flying back. But, when I do find time, that is in Ohio, right?
But I do know what you mean, with the whole "words cannot describe," because that is pretty much what I would classify the Sheikra as, you know, plummeting 200 feet straight down to the ground... a feeling that cannot be replaced, so I'm sure 300 feet plus over a lake would be even better. I will find some way to do that, for sure.

Anyways, believe it or not, I used to be TERRIFIED of roller coasters. I would not go on any roller coaster no matter how scary it was, and now I would wait in any line to get on a roller coaster. Actually, a few days ago, when I went on the Sheikra for the second time, we waited in line for the Sheikra for like an hour in the rain just so I could get my mom on that ride (it has been raining here all week, literally every day). So that gives you an idea of how crazy about them I have become.

Well, I'm off to bed, because down here it's about 10:30, and I need to get one more Sheikra ride in tomorrow, so I need my beauty sleep... okay maybe not so beauty, but I need sleep.

I waited two and a half hours in line with no one to talk to and nothing to do to pass the time to ride Millennium Force and it was so totally and completely worth it.

I'm sad. I live in Florida and it's too damn hot. Wanna trade?

I went to Busch Gardens a few months ago. Some nice animals and coasters but the theming sucked.

I went on all the roller coasters except Kumba. Couldn't fit. Not sure if the seats were smaller, or if I shouldn't have had such a big lunch.

... Sounds like a bummer.

Anyways, I did some research, and found what I believe to be the best roller coaster in the world: Kingda Ka (http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/Rides/Kingdaka.aspx)

Now THAT is what I call a roller coaster!
