Title: Sold some stuff, and picked up a Wii and DS game. Little shopping story :-)
Post by: AV on July 07, 2008, 08:36:17 PM
I beat "No More Heroes" last night, and the battle mode kind of got boring but the boss battles were awesome, anyway I don't see myself playing that over. I traded that in. Snakes on a Plane I placed a digital copy on my Harddrive and traded that in. South park Seasons 4-10 are currently available at SouthParkStudios.com to watch for FREE Legally, so no point in keeping the box sets.
I got a grand total of $97 CASH for everything.
I went around my local shops Gamestop, ToysRus, Movie Trading company Circuit City and bought the following.
Ghost Squad: $19.99 NEW at Toys R US Gamecube 3rd party wired controller: $9.99 NEW Movie Trading Company (its white like Wii and works and looks just like 1st party) Final Fantasy VI: Advance: $16.99 NEW Circuit City ( 1 of 2 copies left, everywhere else this game is impossible to find) Gamecube controller extension cord: $1.99 Used at Gamestop 2000 Wiipoints card from gamestop: $20 Dark knight "Why so Serious " Joker Poster: $4.99 New at Toys R US japanese strawberry chew: $1 New Movie Trading Company
I also ate #4 meal at Jack in the Box (sour dough jack meal and nacho japaleno burger and bought my friend a smoothie)
So I got about $14 left and I'm saving that to watch Dark Knight in a next friday.
I think I did pretty damn well. I got a new deep game (Final Fantasy) and I got a great multiplayer game and now that I have two Nyko Perfect shots I'm ready to have some fun with Ghost Squad.
So do you guys think I got a good deal on everything?

You bought Ghost Squad and FFVI. That's like... automatic win right there.

Yeah but at the expense of an awesome Wii game that extremely overlooked, a crappy DVD and box sets of seasons 4 - 10 of South Park.
Ghost Squad is awesome and FF: VI is awesome however you got ripped 97 cash sucks for all that you traded in for.

Vega what difficulty did you beat No more Heroes? Like Kairon said those are awesome choices.I got FF6 advance back when it came out and paid I think 24.99, so compared to me you got the better deal. Also what company made the controller?

I beat NMH on the MILD Setting that was the highest it would let me go when I started the game.
I did enjoy the game, and it was worthy of my money but I don't see myself ever playing threw it again and it will collect dust on my DVD shelf.
The controller doesn't have a brand name it just says "Works for NGC & Wii" on it. it looks and feels 100% like Nintendo controller the buttons and stick not same caliber but very still similar. I like the White color of it and doesn't have a name above start button so its blank. It's made in China and just says basic info on the back of the plastic shell.
That Movie Trading Company has lots of import goods and stuff. I saw this thing that has two cartridge slots that let you play SNES and NES and some TG16 controller and original NES games and junk

Those controllers break easily sure they may look like Nintendo's controllers but the quality of them is crap.

I think I have different media purchasing habits than most people.

Naw, I have less than 50 DVDs, but I would be hard pressed to sell a single one.

DVD shopping is addicting. Like third party games, but there's no first party anyways! AAAAHHHH!!!!

Wouldn't any movies distributed by companies owned by Sony Pictures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Pictures_Entertainment) be considered first party since Sony makes DVD and BluRay players?

Hey, FFVI is worth $100, so you made good regardless. Dunno what this Ghost Squad is; I may have to check into that.
If you want to save more and you've got an AMC theater nearby, go before noon on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Even tickets for a new release are five bucks. Would save you enough to catch Hellboy II, which is also going to rock.

Only un-necessarily so, since Sony won the war.
Side note: I own exactly 2 DVDs. I've watched one. No one wants to watch the other with me. :( Cute Futurama fans are hard to find.

No, the war is over. There is now only transition.
