nickmitch: yes buttplugabuz: cuz you'd be stupid to let a forumer decide what to get engraved into your body with ink.
where would you have it bust out from though? I'd be a little scared having kool-aid man busting outta my ass.

What about if it's tattooed on the bottom of your foot, so that every time you look at it you think, "Aghh! I stepped on the Kool-Aid M.. oh, that's just my tatoo"

The only thing legendary about Dane Cook is how awful he is.

I don't understand the Dane Cook hate.

It's because he was so extremely popular yet at the same time so completely unfunny. Does that make more sense? I don't hate him 'cause he's not funny, I hate him because so many people seem to think he is and he's now rich and famous but has no talent.

He's nowhere near as good as he is popular, but he has some decent material. Of course I haven't listened to stuff by him in a long time because I have a large collection of stuff by better comics like Jim Gaffigan that I'd rather listen to, so I may be remembering wrong.

Meh, comedy is such a personalized taste, different types of comedy appeal to different people.
Dane Cook has some alright stuff, but alot of it is too similar for me. I do like the Kool-Aid man skit though.

Dane Cook and win his crowds. His style just isn't for everybody. Gaffigan is hilarious because he's perfected the awkward comedian persona.
Like Crimm said, with stand up, it's almost entirely to each his own, but a lot of it does depend on how good the comedian is. I saw this one amateur who's on stage presence didn't match his deliveries. Both were good, but not compatible. This almost completely ruined his material, which was top notch. He took heckling pretty well.
In any case, I think we can all agree the Carlos Mencia is a no talent, joke stealing hack of a comedian who is single handedly ruing comedy on a daily basis.

It depends on skill and it depends on style. There's lot's of different styles of comedy and not everybody likes all of them. Once you know what styles you like it depends on how good the comedian is.

Exactly, I know that in person I have never had a problem getting every single person around me to laugh, not cuz I am a goof ball cuz I am nothing at all like I appear to be here. The problem is my style of humor does not translate well into text.
ON the topic of comedians, my favorites are Kevin Smith, Jim Carrey (before he did Truman Show but I also loved Bruce Almighty), Bill Murray, Tim Allen( not the Disney Channel Tim the stand up comedian and Home Improvement before Season 6 Tim) and I also liked Richard Prior and The Waynes Brothers, although they are hit and miss at times.
I must admit I am not sure who this Dane Cook is but he doesn't sound like something I would be into.

My top 5 comedians are all different styles. Jim Gaffigan, who I already mentioned, is insane in such a good way. Lewis Black is more topical jokes, Patton Oswalt is a bit like Gaffigan in how he does things, but he's got his differences and is much more edgy than him, Demetri Martin tells one line jokes about seemingly random things, kind of like Mitch Hedberg but at least twice as good, and Frank Caliendo who does stand-up with impressions, the only impression guy I've ever really liked.

this thread is lacking the following:
Dave Attell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQL_0OejZNU)
Nick Swardson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeXY9tUIwRY&feature=related)
kind of like Mitch Hedberg but at least twice as good
You take that back right now!
Hey, I love Mitch Hedberg, I was listening to him the other day, but in my opinion Demetri Martin is very much the better of the two. At the very least he's someone to carry on the style.

Yeah I like Demetri too, I was just giving you a hard time 'cause I like Mitch more. My girlfriend is in love with Demetri, so perhaps I responded out of jealousy. :(
