Title: i blinked and missed why i'm collecting pearls (minor spoilers)

as the title states, i must have not been paying attention and i don't know why i'm collecting pearls. thus far i have the one from the eagle people (i think it's din's pearl) and the one from the deku tree (no idea what this one's called) but i have no idea why i'm sailing around collecting these. because of my job i only get to play the game for a couple hours a night ever other night so i probably went and forgot the plot. can someone fill me in on the purpose of these pearls? thanks.

They are needed to open a way for you to get the Master Sword. Your basically collecting them to see your worthyness.
