Title: Whoooo-hooooooo!!!!
Post by: UncleBob on June 17, 2008, 12:36:57 PM
Hot-diggity-damn!
So, I'm working on getting covers for all of my Game Boy/Game Boy Color games. I know I'm missing a few, but the only one I could acknowledge that I'm missing and that really upset me was Metroid II (one of the best GB games ever!).
Anywhoo, I go up into my attic of doom to see if I can find any boxes to scan in and pull out any manuals to put in with the games. I know I don't have many of the old boxes, but figured I should look.
One of the boxes I pull out is Kirby's Tilt N Tumble.
When I went to pull the manual out, what do I find inside the box?
MY METORID II CART!!!!!
What the hell? Why did I put it in there!?!?
All well, I'm just thrilled to have it again. Whooooooooo!!!!!

My wife does that too, drives me crazy. I can usually go through the DS games and track the trail of games she has played. Before I left for my honeymoon, I was going through DS games to see what I was going to bring and I got to the Rune Factory box which had Phantom Hourglass in it (Rune Factory was in her DS). The PH box had Super Princess Peach in it, the SPP box had New SMB in it, so on and so forth. I went through a good 8 or so games before I had all of the games back in their proper boxes aside from Rune Factory which was in her system and Yoshi's Island DS which was in her case.

I never had that problem with games, but that used to happen to me all the time with my GameCube memory card. I used my original memory card 59 to backup save files in the off-chance my main 251 card ever died or got lost. Problem is, I could never remember what game case I would keep it in, so it would always take me 5 minutes of opening up all my cases before I found it. When I finally did find it, it would always be in the case I would least suspect. I'm sure it made sense to me why I used that case back then, but I sure as Hell couldn't figure it out after the fact.
Anyway, congrats on finding Metroid II. I replayed it a couple years back and it's still a pretty good game. I just wish it had a map.

why not leave the memory card in the memory card slot on the system? If I ever took mine out it would disappear.

we wouldn't hear about that until AFTER he started a thread about buying up tons and tons (more) nintendo stuff and someone would ask where he got all the money this time. he'd passingly mention winning the lotto only then

Metroid II would be so much better with a GOD DAMN MAP.
Anyway at the moment the only game I have missing is Metroid Prime Hunters, which sucks because I actually really enjoyed the multiplayer component....I had that game for a month before I lost it, new record!

I felt exactly the same way UB feels right now when I found my missing Zelda Collectors Edition GC disc. I lost it like a year ago and thought someone had stolen it or I might have accidentally traded it into GS thinking it was WW. Then I was going though my moms DVD collection about a month ago and low and behold there it was, burried behind her Cheers DVDs. Man I was so happy.

Dude, my first system was a Coleco, and up until the "GBA stage" of my life (and even with the DS for a little while), I would put the games back in the case (NES/SNES), back in the plastic sheathe (GBA), and then back into the box. Then I bought a sweet totebag for my DS and stopped doing that. Now I'm way too lazy and careless, and I realized that crap was making me a little crazy.

Replaying Metroid II, I don't know if there's really that much of a need for a map... Yeah, it'd be nice, but the planet is actually pretty small...
