This has been the case with anyone with a single star from what I have encountered online. It's almost like they need the star to somehow substitute not having any real ability. These people also tend to use bikes alot.

Hah. Well I'm trying to get good with a heavy weight car so I can use my Mii.
Also, if you noticed "Pistol" and "Mom" in those races, that was my mom and dad. and "Gogh" was my fiancee.

I'm trying to get used to a heavy character because Funky Kong with the Wario Bike is a such a bad ass. Otherwise I use Baby Bowser and the Mach Bike.

I am all about the magikoopa bike. That's what I used to get my single star and unlock everything.

Magikoopa bike is pretty cool. I'm a heavy me too. Unfortunately the damn sound effects annoy the piss outa me.

Vaguely... between matches I recall seeing the names. During the matches not so much so, seeing as how everyone was behind me.... :D Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... that was too easy a setup - had to take the shot

I had another stint last night and did better I think. Either I had weaker opponents or I picked a better vehicle.
I got my versus rating up above 7000.

Actually I saw you online last night but couldn't join your match. Then you disappeared about 5 mins later.
I'm assuming those "Cannot join your friend now, try again later" messages are due to:
1) Friend isn't actually online anymore - maybe he cut the session short before "logging out" and hasn't timed out yet. 2) Friend is in a match that has 12 players already and there's no queue system in place so that you can just sit around and wait for a slot to open up.

Looks like I finally ran into NOA REGGIE online... I wonder if any other NWR's were on those matches but not on my friend list. I'm guessing Jason was NWR ilk.

If you can't join it means either they have 12 players or they are in the period where they are selecting a race or on the first lap. I've noticed never joining on the first lap.

Well, some more good races last night against Pale and UncleBob. I think thatguy was there too... actually saw "ThatGuy" show up in the names.
Pale finally got a few (3) wins against me.

Hah, i was in what I think is the slowest accelerating car in the game. Did you see my win on Ghost Valley? That was one pure race. I destroyed everyone. =P
But yeah, good racing. My Mom and Dad (pistol and sarabi) as well as good friend (chris) were also in the races. At one point (assuming thatguy is THE thatguy) I knew everyone in the race.

Heh, I got nailed off the course on the first lap of ghost valley and that pretty much sealed a low rank for me... that course is too tight - middle ranks tend to murder each other as a result (aka: it's best to get an early lead on that course)
Bowser's Castle I enjoy a lot; I had a neck and neck race with a two star'er (we were well ahead of the rest of the pack). We were lucky not to get shelled by to many items near the end, and he used a well timed banana to kill my attempt to draft him on the final stretch.
Where is thatguy? Does he even have this game?
