Is that $740 before or after taxes?

LOSE THE CREDIT CARDS, your only 20. Every friend of mine that picks up a CC abuses it. I'm 21 and I haven't ever had one.

I was pretty good with my credit until the **** went down with my roommate. And of course now my rent was raised by 200 bucks. So I ran out of real money fast and had to start putting everything on cards to get stuff done. I'm trying to find myself a "real jorb" but this isn't exactly a good time to be a college dropout and need a decent paying job.
I'm applying to be a sheriff, and have started working out again (the first time in four years) to prepare myself for the physical tests and training. Oh the magical motivating powers of monumental debt!

Congrats on working out. I might as well be a dropout of monumental bad physical condition. Woops

Firstly, thanks.
Secondly, I don't see what you did there.

I have two credit cards and i'm not in the same situation. If you use them properly you can make them your bitch. I spend everything on the first card (on purpose), pay it all off in full and claim the cashback. I got £30 back last time for it. I should earn several times more this time.
The second is for super large stuffs; i had to use it to pay $800 for my one-way ticket back to london last month after my original ticket was cancelled at JFK. I'm claiming that money back (with a 5 page complaint letter to boot), because it's mine.

I haven't had a job since the end of 2006 and I still get my bills paid. don't ask how I do it though.

Once I get back on my feet by mugging people in dark alleyways, I plan on canceling most of them, and only keeping one or two. My large Citi Bank card, and perhaps a Capital One, but Capital One is pretty bitchy so I may just keep the Citi card.

What's wrong with Capital One? I thought they were the "No hassle" people.

Capital One argues with me when I try to cancel their special programs. It's like I'm trying to unsubscribe from AOL or something.

if I said I live with my parents and they pay my bills would that earn me more respect than if I said I sold dope to little kids? Cuz neither one are the whole truth just so ya know.
On topic of credit cards, ha! Capital One are the worst credit card company out there. I knew someone who had their stupid card and they got sick and had a ton of medical bills pile up, and every one of their debtor except capital one, was willing to work with them to stay afloat. Because that one card was so stubborn it pushed them into bankruptcy.

Not having any credit cards at all can be a bad idea if you want a car loan someday. I imagine having no credit would kill your mortgage possibilities as well, but I haven't hit that point in my life yet.
The only reason I'm driving the car I have right now is because I was good enough on credit cards to qualify for the 1.9% financing they were offering. I wish my student loans were only 1.9%.
But to Maverik, just make a plan and stick to it. You'll dig yourself out. If you don't already do this, I suggest installing either Quicken or Microsoft Money. If you have a steady pay check, you can plot that against expenses and figure out the maximum you can put away/pay off debts with a month. That's how I'm saving for a wedding/house right now.

That's a very good idea. I'll have to look up how expensive that is first, of course. I imagine they wouldn't charge too much for budget planning software, would they?
Is there a reason you always leave out the "c" in my username?

Being a pimp / being pimped would earn more street cred.
