On CBS’ ''The Late Show with David Letterman'', it was revealed that the recently retired Brett Favre will grace the cover of EA’s forthcoming Wii and DS incarnations of Madden NFL ’09. This year’s version is the 20th anniversary of the franchise and Favre will be the first retired player to appear on a cover.

Madden NFL ’09 will hit stores on August 12th, 2008 and retail for $49.99 on Wii and $29.99 on DS.

Brett Favre played quarterback for the Green Bay Packers from 1992-2007 and holds various NFL records such as most consecutive starts by an NFL quarterback (253) and most career touchdown passes (442). He retired from the NFL in March 2008.

I guess that means he doesn't have to worry about the Madden curse.

With him being retired is he even in this game?  I guess he would be on a historical team but it still seems kind of weird.
