Title: LOTR = Dirty theifes!
Post by: ShyGuy on March 29, 2008, 01:38:47 PM
Gollum from the Lord of Rings Movie is TOTALLY a rip-off of Gurgi from The Black Cauldron. Voice and dialog-wise.

But to be fair, the books series on which Black Cauldron is based borrows Tolkien.

I think Gollum is a rip-off of Peter Lorre.

I can do a good impression of Gurgi, but not of Gollum.  It's a source of great sorrow.

That's why it's a source of great sorrow.  Seriously, even though they do sound similar, there are a couple of differences.  Gollum's voice is more dynamic in pitch and more strongly voiced.
