Gollum from the Lord of Rings Movie is TOTALLY a rip-off of Gurgi from The Black Cauldron. Voice and dialog-wise. (http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k302/shyguy70/gurgipic1.gif) But to be fair, the books series on which Black Cauldron is based borrows Tolkien.
That guy is like Albert Einstein.
I think Gollum is a rip-off of Peter Lorre. (http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e390/factorysloth/PeterLorre-773902.jpg) (http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e390/factorysloth/gollum-thumb.jpg)

I can do a good impression of Gurgi, but not of Gollum. It's a source of great sorrow.
How can you have one without the other?
"thiefes" i see what you did there.
How can you have one without the other? That's why it's a source of great sorrow. Seriously, even though they do sound similar, there are a couple of differences. Gollum's voice is more dynamic in pitch and more strongly voiced.
