Nintendo Power gave it a 3.0.  :D

EDIT:  I just checked Metacritic and apparently I was mistaken; it actually received a 7.0.  Some other crappy game must have received a 3.0.  I will be more careful about memorizing review scores for games I never intend to play next time I eat oat meal.

I don't think any self respecting female would ever actually wear a sweater of that nature....

Now I must wonder if this is a worthy $30 co-op game like Ghost Squad was.

For clarification that 3.0 was for Baroque.

The game looks interesting. IGN gave it a 7.0 (http://wii.ign.com/articles/861/861798p1.html) as well, but "Another Take" by Cassamassina seems to indicate the reviewer (Ryan Clements) gave it a higher score and he (Matt) lowered it before publishing the review.

"Another Take
from Matt Casamassina
I think Ryan liked the game a little more than I did, which is why we've lowered the overall score for the Wii version, even if it is better than the PS2 build. Fact is, much of the Wii's features are underused in Obscure, whether you're talking about 480p and 16:9 support or, more importantly, clever Wii remote-mapped gameplay mechanics. For $29.99, Obscure remains a respectable survival-horror alternative with some really campy moments. But it also feels like a survival horror game designed a decade ago -- same fundamental shortcomings as some of the originals, from a wonky camera to a story which makes little sense. If you're dying for a scare -- har, har -- give it a try. The price is certainly right."

It was like the design process went.

Ok I designed this goth chick total upper covering and short skirt style.
Hmm... Its ok but boobs sell.  Cut a hole in the middle of it to show some cleavage and we'll be good to go.

Which would be the opposite of Folklore which was:

I have these great costume designs.
Hmm... They are to revealing.  We don't want to offend every religious demographic with this game.  Have her bring her hand up like she's about to faint all the time and call it a day.

IMPRESSIONS

Survival Horror, TRUE survival horror, has come to the Wii (Not like that fake RE:UC stuff) Here are my quick impressions after playing for a few hours.

- The story is cheesy, Dialog is decently voiced but badly written. Running around reading bulletin boards is amusing. Different characters give different reactions to things to.
- Controls are seem a little awkwardly mapped, but it's not too big of an issue as most of the game (so far) is adventure mode running around rather than combat. Only waggle is shake nunchuck to reload and swing remote for melee weapon.
- Sound is good, some of the tunes are catchy.
- Graphics are suprisingly decent. A little rough in spots but the textures are well done and the enviroments are decent. Flashlights give off "real time lighting." Cars look ugly but who cares?

All in All, I recommend everyone stop playing brawl and pick this up for thirty bucks. Any questions?

ProTip: the giant narcotic flowers are actually save points even though their poisonous black spores make you pass out.

I'm about halfway to three quarters of the way through, still enjoying the game. There is a decent coop puzzle in the middle, but I'm still not digging the combat. An enemy shows up and you flail around in terror as the camera goes every which way as you waste ammo and half your life bar. Maybe it's supposed to be that way, it is afterall, a survival horror game.

Do you get to dress up Shannon?
Title: Re: Obscure II The Aftermath.

Not so far. (although I've heard the first game had unlockable costumes after beating it so we shall see.)

The deal with Shannon is she was in the first game and got all screwed up in the head from surviving a survival horror game. Now apparently she's a Goth who doesn't value herself or her body. Or something like that.

The beanie hat guy is also from the first game, yes?

'Round here we call that a stocking cap. And yes three of the playable characters are from the first game (apparently two more characters from the first game are mentioned after the end credits)

There's only one kind of stocking, and those are worn by women.  :reggie:

looks like they took katie hiolmes from disturbing behavior and josh harnet in the faculty and made a game with them.

In my travels a stocking hat was a hat that was like a stocking but had a hole in it just for your face to come through. similar to a ski mask but with more face, a beanie has always been synonymous with a ski cap. since in Yuma we don't ski we usually call them beanies.

I think I'm getting close to the end. You know what part is really annoying? The lock picking. I spent thirty (30!) minutes on the last lock.

Looking at the unlocked concept art I just discovered that one of the monsters who is on all fours and has a vertical mouth with teeth? Um, that ain't no mouth. ew.
