I think it's fair to say that if Nintendo is going to put some sort of super secret character in a game you can count on it being R.O.B.. What the ****? Who the hell cares about ROB? I don't unlock that dickface and think "AWESOME, I love ROB he is the coolest Nintendo character ever!!!1!" OH WAIT, ROB ISNT A FUCKING CHARACTER, HE'S A GODDAMN NES PERIPHERAL. **** ROB.
He shouldn't be so awesome in Brawl

The ROB peripheral was a short lived gimmick, BUT helped Nintendo release the NES in the US and onto world domination.
From what I read, retailers were reluctant to carry any more videogame systems, especially after the Atari disaster. The only way stores could carry consoles is if they were sold as toys. So Nintendo bundled the NES with the ROB accessory and called it at toy. This worked as they began selling the system, and the rest as they say is history.
Fans see him as being vital in the NES's life, despite being very short lived.

Well, ROB does suck. I don't need to play Brawl to know that!

He wasn't a character before, but he's a character now. He's been a "running gag" for a while now, and I think he's here to stay.
Not to mention, the in-game ROB is much cooler than the original ROB.

At least with G&W they brought back the G&W classics for the GBA after his inclusion in Melee. What the hell are they going to do for ROB?

We have a language filter now, so all is well, I will filter the title though. Also I need to vent because I can't stand that they put that stupid thing in all of their games and expect fans to eat it up like it's some sort of awesome inclusion. He was a stupid peripheral who now makes a stupid character. It really aggravates me that he is popping up everywhere, especially in Brawl. At least Mr. G&W was a cool throw back to one of Nintendo's original forays into gaming.

ROB 64 (ナウス 64, Nausu Rokujūyon?, NUS64) is the robotic operator of Star Fox's mothership, the Great Fox. ROB's name is a reference to the NES accessory R.O.B..

When I first got my Wii he became my sensor bar holder, but now I got a plasma 50 incher so..he doesnt fit, cus its pretty flat, so he sits on my video game shelf cus he's awesome.

It was pretty fucked up to begin with. Let's bring it back to it's original fucked-up-ed-ness.
ROB sucks and I hate him, and anything that resembles him. Including Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, except when he turns bad and fucks people's **** up. That's pretty awesome. So maybe I have come to the conclusion that ROB is actually awesome in Brawl because he destroys **** and fucks bitches up, however he shows emotion in the SSE which makes him a giant wuss and I'm back to hating him again. Yup, that sounds right.
