This isn't fair I just got my copy of brawl it doesn't work. This is torture! I tried all of my games and those work. I am guessing that I just have to return it.:(

A note to everybody that wants to add me to their wii. I have to send out my wii. I would like to ask that you add me after I get my wii back. That way if I get a new one you won't be adding the wrong number. Thank you.

On the bright side Nintendo will use expedited shipping both ways so that means the whole process would be done by a week or two max. And I think that all they are going to do is clean your laser so it should be the same Wii with nothing changed, if your paranoid about losing your saves back them up on a SD card, if you don't have one yet you can find a 2GB card for 10 - 20 dollars.

Anybody who bought Scarface knew about this drive issue a good long time ago, just that nobody ever spoke up about it then. That game was also a DVD9 title that for some people had disk reading issues as well. Very similar issues to what some people had with older PS2s and dual layer games and CD titles. I know there's got to be some decent way to clean the lens without having to send it in.

Thank you everybody for your comments and helpful advice. I have a few questions, I never had to send any thing up to Nintendo so I don't know the process of how it works. I have a Sd card a 1 GB card when I send my wii up should I take the card out?

Yes, never ever send a console in with any peripherals or else you will never see that peripheral again.

Maxi,
Your very welcome and for future reference when you get a box to return your console companies typically stuff the box with instructions to send the console back, some materials to hold the console still during shipment, a return label and a letter of apology.

For this repair, though, seems all we're getting is an e-mail. Good thing I hoard boxes. The situation is kinda frustrating, since I bought mine at GameStop and got their warranty. They're going to hold one for me out of their next shipment and, knowing my luck, they'll call after I've dropped the stupid package off at Kinko's.
Either way, I'll have a Wii that'll play Brawl within a week.

I had to send my Wii to Nintendo to have the drive replaced a few months ago. I had it back in a week. They will send you an e-mail with a link to print a pre-paid FedEx shipping label. The free FedEx "medium" sized box is perfect for the Wii (which will need to be placed inside of a plastic bag along with a letter containing all of the info that they request of you). Ball-up some newspaper for packing material and you're set.
BTW - I found that a large-sized freeer bag (Ziploc) is the perfect size to place the Wii in for shipping.

When I had to send in my Wii to get fix back in August (thanks to their own system update), I didn't get it back for a month. I don't know if my case was unusual, but there you go.

I believe that's the way I did it...so Fed Ex might takes less time. I can't even remember why I didn't use Fed Ex...

I had to send mine through fed ex because thats what Nintendo paid for and mine only was gone for 2 weeks or so.

I got my copy today and it seems to be working fine on a US launch Wii. The game tends to have longer loading times than usual Wii games though.
