Title: NWR Forum Trivia
Post by: that Baby guy on February 23, 2008, 10:22:53 AM
Yes, I've decided to start posting trivia questions on NWR, maybe once a day or so.  Go ahead and give answering a try!  All you have to do is answer first.  Feel free to include your own trivia questions!  I'll be leaving some questions ambiguous to add to the difficulty, leaving out names of specific games or characters or other things, since this is the internet.

Please refrain from answering more than once per day.  I don't mean answering with 24 hours in-between each answer, but rather, I mean that the day of your post is different.  You're answer will be ignored if you're answer is within the same day in your timezone.  You may only answer one question at a time, but you may answer any question that is posted.

For the first question:

What happens when you hit the riverboat on D.K.'s Jungle Parkway? You crash, then land in the water.

Atrun Zala: 1
Smoke39: 1
DAaaMan64: 2

The second question:  Which three companies are the only three companies other than Nintendo to release a Nintendo Console not including anything under the iQue brand? There's actually more than three companies.  The five we've posted here are Mattel, Hyundai, Panasonic, Visteon, and Sharp.

Wrong.  However, from this point, I'll only post new questions and when someone gets it right.  Additionally, I made an alteration to the second question and added rules.  Or at least, I will be adding that after I finish this reply.

That doesn't mean your answer was any more right before I changed it.  I added that in because I remembered I meant to include that addendum from the start.

That Sony Playstation was not a Nintendo console.  It was a Sony console with the possibility of playing SNES ports.  You lose, good day sir!

Actually, the 200 PlayStations mentioned in that article were after the breakup with Nintendo but before the deal to re-include the SNES cartridge port.

You both fail at reading.

Question 3:  In a SNES game about evolution and the passage of ages, what is the secret transformation that you can choose in the ocean later in the game under specific circumstances? The game is EVO: The Search for Eden, and in it, you can turn into a mermaid when you choose the correct evolutionary path.

Wrong and wrong.

Just remember, even though I posted that AZ got the questions wrong, doesn't mean that I'll post if you get it wrong.  Most of the time, I'll just ignore your answer.

Additionally, I need to change my second question, as AZ, your company is correct, but my intelligence was bad (Thanks, Crimm).  There were three companies, and two have been named.  The third has not been named yet.  AZ, due to my negligence, feel free to post another company.

well, you said two... in any case, the third has to be Hyundai...

and I didn't understand your second question then...

You know what?  You get the point.  Crimm, you failed me.  The other company I was looking for was Mattel.  They produced the NES to help ease demand back in it's hey-day.  I'll start a scoreboard.  Your answer about Hyundai was correct, too.

Well, it was just a guess.  I haven't hit it since I lernd2play, so I'll defer to your inferior skills knowledge.

Edit: Wait, what?  That's the same thing I said.

Actually, I just tried it and I flew right through the boat.

When the Father of Lies over there said I was wrong, I looked for a video of it on Youtube, and saw the guy pass right through it, too, so I thought that was how I was wrong.  I have a memory of bouncing off the side into the drink, though.  I may hook up the ol' N64 tonight and experiment.  Maybe this is a bug in the VC version.

I hit it on the front part that's higher than the main deck.  Maybe only the lower part registers collisions?

Regardless, it wasn't released by Sony or anyone for that matter.
As far as the boat goes, it was my mistake, you have to hit the base of the boat, you go through the top of it.  If anyone double checks, and I'm wrong, I'll fix the point totals.  Remember, NWR Forum Trivia is still finding it's niche, so it is prone to error 2/3's of the time.  Give me time to work out the kinks.

Question 4:  What was the codename for Nintendo's successor to the Game Boy Color?Atlantis

Question 5:  What items are necessary for the lowest percentage run of Super Metroid?  Include how many packs of missiles, etc.

Nitro was the DS.  I think they were still on sea things like Atlantis or Dolphin(Gamecube).

I hereby call shenanigans.

Hyundai (an electronics company, not the car company)
At the time, they were all part of the same conglomerate.
Another company you're missing is Visteon (http://www.visteon.com/products/automotive/fes_dock_gba.shtml)
