Episode 87: Cpt Britain and the Windman vs the Sith Lord
Steven "WindyMan" Rodriguez joins again, this time for the full show, in place of Lindy. He and the remaining regulars (Greg, James) listen as Jonny says more than anyone needs to know about "Marvel Illustrated : The Swimsuit Issue." Steven makes everyone feel jealous of Brawl, and far too much time is spent talking about LORDS OF THUNDER.
With the arrival of the new Forums we talked about why they were gone (the Sith), and the exciting goings-on since their return. We explore Ninjitsu, space, and our foggy memories with another good week for Virtual Console. And, as always, we ended with a heaping helping of listener mail.

First two correct. Sith Lord is none of us, and Russkie Standart was Jonny's drink of choice while we recorded.

A fan watches the games as they are played. An enthusiast follows the sport, knows strategy, the players, and things like that. The commentary is typically journalists. The amateurs play the sport and may be enthusiasts, but aren't good enough to be pros. The pros, are, well, the pros.
Games are like that. I consider myself a gaming "enthusiast." One of my roommates is also an enthusiast. My other roommate is a fan. He plays "non-games" mostly, but he's by no means "casual" at Wii sports tennis. CrimmJim, Jonnyboy, Windy, SvevEvan, and the rest are Commentary-enthusiast hybrids, some more commentary, some more enthusiasts. Hardcore are people involved with the MLG, or other competition. Like Starcrafters in South Korea. People who play competitively at more local levels (tourney-something-or-others, in smash bros.) would be the amateurs.
As you can see, even those five categories don't really cover everything. But hardcore/casual certainly doesn't cut it. Certainly.
I haven't listened to the podcast yet, though I will. I will.

You guys are right on about Wind Waker having one of, if not THE coolest "OMG" moment in the Zelda series. When I first ran into Hyrule castle I was blown away, and there have been few moments like it for me in gaming. Though I can pretty much think of a "wow" moment in every Nintendo Zelda, including TP (The first encounter with the twilight realm especially when you meet Zelda is a great moment), though sadly I have NONE for Phantom Hourglass.
Here are the best moments I can think of for each Nintendo Zelda game:
1. LoZ- Nothing huge, but the freedom to move across such an open land was quite exciting. Heck even getting the first sword was great
2. LoZ2: When you shut the game off. Amazing moment, one I will always cherish. When it was new, this moment gave me happiness beyond words.
3. LTTP: A tie between getting the master sword and the first dose of the shadow realm
4. Ocarina of Time: When you pull out the master sword and become adult link. The world is breathtaking along with being depressing.
5. Majora's Mask: The setting, especially that creepy moon coming down on you.
6. Wind Waker: Already said what this moment was, perhaps the best
7. TP: Once again I said what it was.
Anyway entertaining show, keep it up!

Anyway, I mentioned this to Crimm, but Windy's voice blows out my eardrums, for some reason when he talked things sounded REALLY loud which is not good when I'm listening to it on my car stereo.

Oh yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Johnny, Lords of Thunder has TERRIBLE music. I actually took time to listen to it, and wow.
It's okay, you can't even hear it during the game. All you hear is the collection of gems.

There were several different patterns on each cube (maybe up to six?). Some of them there was no "up" or "down" but others had a correct orientation (e.g an X vs. a heart). You used the second set to determine the odd man out.
For example, pretend on one of the boxes you could see a side with a heart and below that (as the heart faced up) was a side with an spade (also facing up). If on another box you saw the spade pointing to the right, but to the right was a side with an X, you know that one of those two boxes was the odd one.
Of course, the actual puzzle wasn't that easy, but that's the gist of it.
BTW, are you the Saturn?
